Since we are talking about shops, anyone know good one for rear end gears in the LA area?

Planning on 3.73's or 4.10's???? I'm guessing RET, GTR, and ST probably do gears. Could be wrong though. I think Bill got his done at Swanson and he's been trouble free. I'd recommend the shop where I got mine but 1)They were in SD. 2) Shop no longer exists.

SC Update 1.1
Might have found a good deal on a BAP and GT500 fuel pump. Depending on how good a deal I may just go for the GT500 fuel pump.

Brian, quit being a pansy and when the light turns green, do a quick rev up to about 4000rpm and side-step the clutch. Then shift smoothly and quickly, at around 6500rpm. Part of it is just experience, just hit the track as often as you can and it will get better.

Hey Steve, Do as Leo suggested and contact the big '3'. I would've recommended Swanson (which is your neck of the woods), but now I only refer my enemies to them.

Got no problem doing a 4000 launch. Think the rev limiter hits at 6200 I think.
Will practice more on my clutch work.

Pansy... PANSY
Chuckle all you want ladies, at least I'm at the track.

I'm surprised Leo hasn't said anything... didn't you know?! You need an auto to run faster times! It eliminates driver error (Just horsing around Leo!).

Should be fun tonight. Truth is, I had a lot more fun at Barona. The vibe is much friendlier there.

At least I'm going!

You can raise the rev limiter through your xCal2... oh wait..

And being at the track means exactly what again? That you can hurl your car down a straight line for an 1/8th mile and claim that you're tenths of a second faster than the other guy all the while flogging your baby?

So to that.. pansy =

Better than having it in your garage and bragging about HP#'s. Plus helps justify all the $$ we throw into these cars. Why get all these performance mods and only use it on freeway on ramps and then roll at cruising speed with a Prius right beside you the rest of the time. If your not into straight line acceleration atleast try AutoX. Why spend all this money on the car if your only going to use it at your "secret proving ground". Which by the way is a straight line like a track but atleast you can measure your gains at the track and have fun beating whatever car lines up next to you. Just saying.

Oh, I wasn't aware that because you have performance parts that you must take your car to the track and beat it up and down the tarmac.

My car will eventually see both kinds of track one of these days... if I ever get it back!

For now, my car is kinda like my truck. Just because it's built for offroading, doesn't mean I'm going to sling mud all over it... just saying.

Not saying you have to track it but why buy all the parts then? Just to say yeah my car has this and that? For street driving there's no way you can even exceed the limits of the stock GT so that would be plenty if that's all your going to do with it. Just saying.

As far as you heading to the track I'll believe it when I see it.

You know what Leo, you're 100% right. I'm converting back to stock.

What do I know, I've only been modding Mustangs since you were 3.

I'm kidding about the 100% and going back to stock.

Well to chose between
Having parts that you use and having parts on a shelf that can "theoretically" perform, you can probably figure out which I'm gonna prefer. I didn't put any performance part on my car that I couldn't flog. I expect to beat it up and drive it hard. And if that makes me crazy then cool, I'm crazy. You prefer the blingage and more of a show look, that's cool too but no less crazy than me. So beware when you start mentioning a padded room it's going to be crowded with both of us in there.

I don't abuse my car I use it. Strip or twisties (hey I didn't take off any sway bars I want to increase them). The 1/8th Mile, for me, is my test of myself and my car and what it can do at it's maximum. You don't race, that's cool. But I've never liked trailer queens no matter what vehicle or person that owns it. Just my taste. Always has been and having a Mustang hasn't changed it.

Do I look at distain at the stadium-ized or huge 4x4 trucks without ever seeing mud, yep.

First Jed, now Brian posts a novel.

Only got 2 points from all that..
1) You, me and a bunch others here will be in a padded room.
2) Brian doesn't like my car.

Does that sound about right?
