can someone please help and tell me if my pcm have gave out on my mustang?.. took it to get some gas a couple days ago, i hardly got anywhere before it shut off on me. i tried a few things and tried driving again but it keeps shutting off.. got a scanner thats throwing the p0607 code at me.. (control module performance).. i have a bad feeling the computer is gone. i took a local mechanic for a ride so far as it will go before shutting off and he thinks it is the fuel filter. but i dont think so... can someone please tell me what they think or has anyone had this problem?

 

my car starts up perfect and runs perfect.. but as soon as you drive it for a minute . it shuts off

 

If your mechanic says fuel filter, why not just try that first?
It's a normal maintenance item so no harm in trying that. It probably needs to be done anyway unless you just did that. There's a lot of crap that gets into underground gas tanks. If you pumped some of it into your car you have no idea how bad that can clog your filter, causing intermittent gas flow. Replace it and see what happens. If that's not the problem, no big deal, you simply replaced something that needed to be done anyway. Good luck!
