Painting front bumper question
Hey guys! I'm relatively new to the forms, so sorry if I do something wrong :-/!
A couple months ago I scraped the bottom of my front bumper (2006 windveil metallic blue mustang) scraping the crap out of it. The dealer wanted to just replace the entire front bumper and paint it for $700! So I decided to give it a shot myself consider I have nothing to lose, if the entire front bumper would get replace anyway...I watched hours of YouTube, got some paint from AutoMotive Touch Up, got bondo, adhesion promoter and Dupli-Color clear coat. After sanding off the paint with an orbital sander, I used the bondo, cleaned everything off sprayed 3 coats of adhesion promoter, then did 3 coats of base color, then 5 coats of clear coat. After the last coat it looks like:
Were the difference is pretty obvious...does anyone have any idea where I screwed up? Does it just take extra time to all dry and go back to normal? Rubbing compound maybe? I followed all manufacturer instructions/dry times.
