^^^ Ref replies above, it's an older sci-fi movie that is also a road trip. It's our favorite combo and every time we visit the southwest we make sure to stop by the Meteor Crater in AZ. Like Dutch Apple pie, TERRIFIC!!

Maybe it's generational but "need for speed" was a good one for me. Terrible acting but the Mustang was neat. Not as neat as they made it out to be but still a pretty cool car till they wrecked it. What really did it for me in that movie was the Torino GT. Not quite a mustang but a very cool car.
Wick's 69 was also a favorite of mine. Eleanor in Cages "gone in 60" is a classic. Not a huge fan of the Mustang II but Ego's Cobra in Guardians of the Galaxy was cool. A lot like Starman's.
Cheers,
Nemi

I didn't see a Mustang in the movie but Johnny Cade (Ralph Macchio) said,"Mustangs are tough" fantasizing about their favorite cars. They were on the run, broke and starving but Mustangs were a distant dream. Outsiders.
I did see a couple of Mustang Fastbacks in War of the Worlds and American Gangster.

There was this ’87 Ford Mustang GT Convertible in the movie Twins (88). The car belonged to Danny DiVito's character but in the scene pictured this was Arnold Schwarzenegger first time behind the wheel of a car
There was this 2013 Mustang in the movie Wrecker (2016). Basically this is a re-imagining of the classic movie Duel.

One of my all time favorites was in the TV series, Spenser: For Hire. This series was based on the books written by Robert B Parker. Spenser was a detective from Boston. This show was a lot like the Dukes of hazard in the amount of Mustangs they wrecked during the course of the series 3 seasons. I use to know but have since forgotten the number of Mustangs but they were buying them up all over the area at the time. I even remember seeing a picture of some garage in New England that has a bunch of green 2+2 all over the place. I want to say they wrecked 24 cars but I could be wrong.
In season 1 he drove a 65/66 Mustang until they blew it up.
Season 2 he drove an 87 GT
In season 3 he found a friend that had just restored a green 65/66 mustang 2+2 and he swapped the 87 for that car. Then when the show ended there were some made for TV movies made for the Lifetime channel. In this series he (Spenser) drove a 67 Mustang 2+2. In the one movie he made a comment that it was the same car but with a new paint job. Mustang fans will know otherwise

Who can forget the 2006 Mustang GT Hero Car "Frankenstein's Monster" Driven by Jason Statham in the movie "Death Race (2008)
Here is an oldie, but for those that grew up in the late 90s early 2000s might not know about this one. Before there was the Charlie's Angles MOVIES, their was a TV series in the 70s and one of the Angles (Farah Fawcett) drove a Mustang II Cobra

Here is another cool car, the show, not so much... This is a 2008 Shelby GT500KR from the revamped TV series Knight Rider
There was also the Shelby GT500 Super Snake from the movie "The Getaway" (2013)
