It's going to be a boring weekend sitting at home
#1
I just get a notice in the mail today when I get home from Progressive saying my policy was cancelled at my request on MAY 5TH, today is May 13th. I call them right away and they say the local insurance agent I go through "cancelled because of price and went to state farm". So I ask what happens now if something happens to the car. She says their policy is that if Progressive or the local agent made a mistake that I would be covered. I have a hard time believing that they wouldn't weasel their way out of that.
Of course now it's 8pm on a Friday and the local insurance guy who I've been buying insurance from for 10 years is closed until monday. My car isn't moving 1 inch until I get them on the phone on Monday.
THIS stinkS!!!!! I WAS SUPPOSED TO ENTER THE CAR IN A CAR SHOW TOMORROW!!!!!!!!! I JUST GOT DONE ZAINOING IT!!!!!!!
:bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:
I can't decide which I'm more angry about, that I can't drive anywhere this weekend or that I've been driving around with no insurance for 8 days.

Well if you want you can always go to
www.progressive.com
and get your insurance in less then 30 mins.
If anything check, then build it yourself and
maybe get it cheeper. I know it was for me.
$689 every 6 months. 50/100/50
unins. 50/100, 1k deductable, & 2k medical.
No tickets. No wrecks.
Which is about double the coverage of my
old insurance for my avalanche, for only $88 more.

I can't get new insurance because:
1) I would admit that I have no coverage, which I insist I still have
2) I would be admitting to a 10 day gap in insurance coverage would would basically screw my insurance rates forever
I'm paying $503 for every 6 months for 250/500/100 liability, 5000 medical and 100 comp/250 collision deductables. I'm 26, that's pretty good.

If it was me I'd track my insurance agent down and get to the bottom of this. No way I'd sit at home all weekend. I agree with an earlier poster, I seriously doubt your agent left you uncovered. Why would he do that?

Wow, that's some great coverage. Are you in with parents insurance?

Dustin I know up here in Maine when you request to drop your coverage the agent makes you send him something in writing. He wont do it over the phone. I went through this last summer. I sold my boat and called to drop it and he made me fax him something. Sounds like he made a mistake.
