So my buddy and I are both leaving this party, and I notice he's not driving his truck, hes got the Grand Prix GTP 2dr (his mommy's ride ). So we decide to go for a little run. That thing was a lot quicker than i thought it would be. Granted I was taking it pretty easy on the shifts cus i think my clutch might be going and my tires (225s) don't hold too well, but still I was pretty impressed. It hung pretty close till about 100k. Actually beat me off the line. Ya, i know, embarassing (auto, fwd). But that car is nothing to sneeze at. Anyobdy else come across any of these?

I currently drive a 98 GTP 2 door.

And yeah they are pretty quick cars. 240hp 280 lbs torque from factory. Run 15 flat stock.

Mine is still pretty quick and it has 163,000 miles on it.

They make good daily drivers too. gets over 30mpg on the hwy.

I'm suprised he beat you off the line, the GTPs don't have a limited slip differential. If i try to take off hard i get major 1 wheel peel.

I know I said he beat me off the line, but I mean he took off and was like 2 feet ahead and that was it. Plus it was a bit of a downhill so i'm not sure if that would've helped him get more traction on the front wheels.
