Glass Roof on Mustang

I purchased my New 2008 Bullitt Mustang and within a week had a Glassback Roof installed. I buy a car with the intent of keeping it for some time and I never consider that my modifications to the car effect it value. The car is for my pleasure and when and if I sell the car the purchaser can appreciate the glass roof or buy another Mustang.

I had just a slight degree of additional tint added to the Glassback roof and doesn't detract from the clarity. I have gone on 400 mile trips in 100 degree weather and I'm not complaining about any interior heat. If it is in fact a slight heat discomfort you can utilize air conditioning or roll a window down.

There certainly is a weight increase in that the Glassback roof does way more than the thin gauge stock roof panel. I advised my Insurance company of my adding on the glass roof and there was a very slight premium increase but the bottom line is if the roof is damage in a roll over or whatever the car would no doubt be considered a totol loss.

The Glass roof isn't going to be wanted by many Mustangers but I love it and I believe that there are but two 2008 Bullitt Mustangs that have the Glassback roof.

Beautiful car! And I for one really like the glass roof! What happened to the stock bullitt 18in wheels though?

Thanks for the reply,
I wanted a slightly wider tire and a deep dish wheel so I went with the AM Anthracite Wheels and the Sumimoto HP tires. I wasn't satisfied with the Stock Navigation/Stereo System and had a Pioneer Avic Z3 with all the upgrades installed. Whoever eventually buys this Bullitt will be getting a immaculate Bullitt and I will include all the original equipment including the original Bullitt Wheels that only had about 50 miles on them before I made the change My Bullitts modifications can be viewed on the IMBOC website garage which is listed as member Joseph Caputo Bullitt 5475.

Gotcha! Sounds like a sweet car you've got there. The Bullitt is definitely my favorite 05-09 special edition.

Welcome to the site from a fellow WA state member by the way! There's not many of us here, most of these guys seem to be from Cali or back east haha.

That's a sweet looking Bullitt and I love the wheel upgrade. The glass roof is certainly an interesting option. I've often wondered if I'd tick that box if I was to order a new '14MY......but I wonder how often I'd have the blind pulled back. I have a glass sunroof on my DD BMW, but I tend to keep the blind drawn across.

Thanks for posting the picture

Nice looking ride!

Since it's a 2008, I would assume it's a CDC glassback Roof? Not too many of these around anymore. Glad to hear it's working out for you!

Cheers,
Reon

While there are people who think you should not modify a car I am not one of those. I believe that you should be happy with what you drive and have what you want on it. The real trick to doing mods is to make it look natural and not over do it. The question is are you happier with the car now than you were before. Daily drivers are not meant to hold massive value. here is a sample of before and after. Which looks like more fun.

Where did you purchase the Glassback?

I just got a 2005 Mustang GT, at a decent price, but the downside to the car is that it has some damage done to the roof of the car... someone appears to have been dancing on the ceiling. Anyways, the shop that I went to said that I would be better off getting the roof skin replaced. As far as I have read, the cost would be about the same to get a Glassback... Any suggestions on where to get one?

BTW, your ride looks sick!
