Searching for how to verify an installed replacement door
is a real Ford door. Car is at body shop.

I have my 2021 coupe at the body shop for a door replacement, due to
an impact while parked, my door was open, tahoe pulled in hit back
of my door (... wah)...

At First pick-up, the outer window whisker did not touch the door glass
in the middle. The door would seem to slowly or slightly bow away
from the glass Could drop sheets of paper down into door.

That is the primary quest.

Why they needed to replace the back window? The only scratch or
dent on the car was the open-end of the driver door.

Thank you! Maybe it'll be done-done today, and can cruise
around happily (as happily as possible ...) this weekend.

 

Did You Get Any Kind of Estimate For Repairs???

A Repop is a $400.00 Door and a New One is a $1200.00 Door. Car Is at The Age Why You Call it in The Air as Far as What Insurance Would Want to Pay For. The Squeeky Wheel Gets The Grease Though and Most Don't Even Think About it So They Get Away Most of The Time Going The Cheaper Route! They Have To Tell You What They are Using and it Will Be on Final Bill For Sure So Make The Call & Get What You Want. They Maybe Going a LKQ Like Kind Quality Door or Good Used as it Is The Easier Way To Go Especially if They Can Find Same Color!

Realize a New Door Comes Bare and Everything Must Be Transferred Over. Being a Mustang Fight For a New or Used Over Repop Would Be My Choice! I Think Ideally The Same Color Used Would Be a Great Way To Go & Then Tell Them You Want The Old Door as Well!

Oh and Very Important Make Sure and Have Them Get Any Door Jam Stickers That Came on Car and They Are Available At FORD. Some Good Pics of Them While You Can Get Them Would Be a Good Idea! To Get Correct Ones and Positioning! Not Sure If Your Year Has Them on Actual Jam or Door Itself.

Somewhere on Door and I Don't Know Exactly Where There Will be an Engraved Ford Logo & Id# Btw on The New Door!

Did Not See Car Was Almost Done Till I Re read it! Oh Well!

I Would Still Make Sure on Those Stickers if Needed! Get The Pics While You Can.

Thanks for the reply! On line, I can see clearly the stamp .. that is covered by the
door interior panels and rain shield. Maybe swing by carmax at lunch to look at
one on the lot ...

I wonder if the back side window got broken cuz they tried to roll it down? (haha I am not funny)

 

Picked up ... amazing recovery. Paint good, trim good, fitment good, detail good (overspray,
decals, clean). Called out the issues, plus an extra week, but ... less chest pain. Which is
entirely un-neccessary/un-appreciated.

Is way way way good to have the Mustang back at near what it was.

That Challenger 4x4 GT rental (base) had just a bit of a good features .. was amazingly good on gas/has
a HUGE tank - 18 gal vs 15.5, and was a bit more quiet at 60mph cruise w/windows down. Minus: white is
PAINFUL on a sunny day.

Yeah - 2021 GT holds 0.5 galllons more than the Ecoboost in the gas tank ... via PN!
