The '79 for me, as I used to own one with a 4 speed, and 302, until I wrapped it around an oak tree in '86, just being plain stupid.

1964 may not be a powerhouse but it's historical value separates it from the other pace cars. Very few have surfaced... If you go to www.early-mustang.com/gallery.html this guy named Klaus is registering all 1964½ stangs and has uncovered a few original pace cars. They have actually found one of the 35 convertibles ever made and the dude who owns it is selling it for $120,000 US.

1994 was awesome and gets my vote, but the 79 is hot as well!

i just bought my 1st indy pace car and got a deal on it i bought it for 2500.$ . and it has been redone with an 88 block and rear end. the moter was bored .30 over and now a 306 with a 351 cam ,gt40 heads preformer intake elderbrock 650 carb ,msd ignition ,headmen longtubes, tci converter shift kit c4 tranny 355 gears in the rear end . interer has new carpet and seats have been redone orgenal recaro seats thats abought it for now

waitaminute! i just looked back, my post from LAST YEAR (page 1) says 94 yet now i prefer the 79. crap

Gotta go with the '64, although th 94 and 79 are tied for a close second

The '64 is just the definition of classic and thats all it took to make up my mind
