I had an '01 GT vert and an '04 GT vert. This car is by far superior to either, in performance, ride, handling, and quality. darn fine car!

I would imagine that IF you can find an 05 GT you want, you are talking at least MSRP and given what is happening price-wise with the 05, same goes for 06"s.....unless you get a plan.

You may find a few 05's for MSRP. Check autotrader and ebay. Also check the "for sale" area here as you might happen upon a deal. Other than that you'll be paying more than MSRP unless you order on a plan in the near future. Good luck, whichever way it takes you

I should add that maybe you could look around for a used 03-04 Cobra. They are supposed to ride and handle even better than the 05's with their IRS (sorry 05 buyers, just a fact) plus you benefit from the supercharged 4.6 4 valve.

I always think you should get the one you want, consider the money you are going to be spending, do you want something that's going to leave you wishing you might have gotten something else, or do you want to go with your heart and get something you have really had your eye on for a good while now. Otherwise get what will make you happy. I got mine for MSRP around 34 and change. Good luck in whatever you get.

Thats sound advice NCPolice555 thats the same way I looked at it and Metfan2000 99 if you can get it for msrp you can always add the stripes later either vinal or paint , vinal ok if you want to remove down the road and is less a cost than paint. BTW I do not have any stripes I just can't decide with a perfomance white with a med parchment or tan interior. Ed

Here's what i did, the wife said why dont you get that Mustang you been looking at, so I didnt waist a wink and left immediatly at 7 at night got down there walked over to the sales guy and said exactly what I had wanted, (I printed off all the option from their web site) I never even test drove the car we sat down at a table filled out the order and then I threw down my down payment for the order. I was about to leave remind you i still have yet to test drive the car, and finally asked him if it would be ok to take one out for a ride, he grabbed the keys to a Sonic Blue GT and we took it for a spin. I knew I had made the right choice even before driving the car. So I know Metfan, once you get in that car, more so once you see that car up cvlose and personal your going to want to have it. Hope it all works out for you and that you get what you want.

Ok So I went to the dealership yesterday, and just looking at the mustang made me decide!! I couldnt take a test drive because they only had two GT's left, one just got bought, and the otherone, was being test driven....Anyways, I was told by the dealership that I had to order an '06 because they are not making the '05s anymore....I was like thats cool.....The only down fall is....6 months Whitch kinda sucls cuz I wanted the GT now, PLus I wanted the options and the low mileage (no more than 10) SO I decide just to stick it out, and order the '06... 6 long months.... Kinda stinks....but I bet its going to be well, worth the wait!!!

Yes It will and just think you'll have it just in time for the snow depending on where you live. All aside once you have it you'll be a very happy camper.

Metfan, smart decision, the wait really will go by fast if try not to think about it to much but when you do get it, trust me you'll know that you got the one you really wanted, not one that you just had to settle for.
