Anyway, my question:
What does Ford plan to do in addressing a 4 door performance sedan? If anybody could make a good one, you'd be the man to design it. With Chevy now offering 303 hp V8s in their Monte Carlo and Impala, how can Ford stay competitive with mundane cars like the Five Hundred and Fusion, both of which have a 100 hp shortage when compared to the Monte Carloa and Impala?

Two questions:
Does he think the long list of options for personalizing the 'stang on early models could ever return, or are pre-packaged option groups just a reality of keeping costs down?
What are his thoughts on what features would make a car built today as wildly popular and successful as the original Mustang (could it be done in today's market) ?

It was supposed to be introduced as 1989 model with front-sheel drive, 4cyl and V6 and it was supposed to be build on Mazda 626 platform. They later named that car Probe.
So, it was 1989, not 1994.

Alot of the background questions were andwered in Iaccocas second book talking straight... This man forsaw everything that has happened in the auto industry from day one.... Btw he is very isolationalist as far as the autos are concerned.... We are an economy based on service and he was one of the first to recognize it....His charisma is his key.

And if I would have to ask a question: When the Mustang was introduced, it created it's own class of vehicle. With all the different models and brands available today, is there any new vechicle that you have concieved but never pitched/created that would create a whole new segment and be such a huge sales success (not necessarily 600,000, but a success in today's market) as the Mustang was back in April of '64?

there was word the Mustang was going to be replaced by a front driver in 1994. There were rumours the last generation probe even had "Mustang III" badges on it at one point (I read this in a local newspaper, not sure if true)

Are you still taking questions? If so, then I have a couple...
1) With the '62 Mustang I and '92 Mach III concepts how close was the mustang to being just a 2 seater rather than a 2+2?
2) With the '62 Mustang I, '92 Mach III concepts, fox bodies, 94-95 models, and sketchings of an 05 concept... ...do you feel that the mustang was meant to have horizontal tails, rather than the hertiage of verticals? And do you think its possible that they may return?
3) Mustangs have had red interior for decades. Though this color option constantly has difficulties lasting throughout the years of each style, do you think they will stop producing the color forever, or just bring it back every couple of years?
4) I heard rumors that the vehicle was suppost to be named after a plane, not a horse. Is this true, and if so what lead to the emblem we see today?

all i can say is it better still be there. someday i'll be old :shudder: and my kids will need cars. no non-fords in this family from now on

can you ask mr Iacocca why he thinks the Mustang II has not so much fans than the other Mustangs?
and what does he knows about the Kemp Cobra IIform Charley Kemp, and did he follow this car during its racing period and does he know what happend to the car?
and are there more prototypes like the western Mustang II made from the Mustang II, and what about the Mustang II convertible?
