I took my car into the Ford Dealer for the engine ticking, gas tank, dash rattle, loose MUSTANG Sill Plate and to check the AC charge. Instead of a Service Advisor helping me I got the Service Manager. He listened to all of my concerns and I went over what I had done to try and isolate the problems. He was very appreciative for what I had done. He had said that the mechanic would have to verify and order parts. So I asked if they had the lifters in stock so they would not have to disassemble my engine and then wait for the parts. He said they would not be in stock for most of it. This is were it gets good. He tells me he will just order all of the parts and call me when they come in, and I can bring the car in then. I ask and He agrees that it might take a couple of days to do all the work. " No problem I'll give you a car. Way above and beyond the call of duty. I did mention that I did not want to get anyone into trouble by ordering the parts before confirming the problems. He says " I run the Service Dept. don't worry about it."

Excellent Customer Service........

Hope it works out for you!

Just FYI - I have no positive raves about any of the three Ford service depts I have dealt with over the years. And just cause he says he'll call you when all the parts are in, does NOT mean everything will work out. I JUST had that happen a few weeks ago with stuff they said they had and then (100+ mile drive because they are an award winning blue oval dealer) they didn;t have my door handle or my da*m replacement shaker....

I really hope it works out as positive as it sounds - just don't want you to be as let down as I was if it happens that way

Good luck!

It would take more than that to get me down. They did the same thing with the Strut Bearings. The actual car buying experience sucked. A bunch of BS. The Service Dept. has been great!

Before you have them dive into the lifters. I would ask them about the "Phaser Bolt" TSB. It has something to do with the VCT, and makes a tick at warm idle.

They are checking it as well. Thanks for the input. I went in with the TSB in hand and the Service Manager had already read it. He seems to be on top of it.
Thanks again,
Michael
