Exclamation Engine swap questions

I'm wanting to in the near future take my 02 v6 and do a 03/04 Terminator swap. I just dont have the money to buy new or buy a 03 04 cobra thats in good condition. Just wondering if its a good idea. Would be modding it up after the swap. Honest opinions please.

Alright.

I just dont have the money... [/QUOTE]

Well, there's your problem. Engine swaps can be expensive if you do them right. I've spent $11k just on parts for mine so far, and I still have about $6k in parts left to purchase.

Unless you're willing to save every possible penny, there's no point in wanting to do this, and you're better off just selling your V6 and buying a V8 car.

Too expensive to do a terminator swap. By the time you get all your parts, you will pass what the car is worth. Terminator prices are going down finally. I've been seeing not so perfect terminators going for $10-12k. Parts to swap alone will be closer to $15k. You can probably pick up a full car and swap everything over to keep your V6 vin# just to keep insurance cheap but that would be the only reason to do so.

Hell yeah, for the cost of a well done swap one can purchase a Terminator and get all the goodies. My buddy was involved in the somewhat infamous wreck at the MCA 50th cruise and the insurance company totaled his car ( for the air bag of all reasons. They only install new parts and a cobra bag cover is no longer available).

He got a check for 21k which left him with 8k (banked for mods) after the balance on the loan and promptly found another Terminator for 18k.
