A Driving Phobia
This will probably sound weird, but sometimes I won't drive my Mustang because I dont want it to get dirty or get a new rock chip etc. How can I get over this? Its not all the time really, but I get that feeling inside that I might be hurting the car. Now I know that a car that just sits will deteriorate just as much, but have any of you ever had this feeling? What do I do to get that feeling out of my head? Thanks for listening. I must be

Look at it this way... If you're not getting the car dirty or chipped, you're missing out on a lot of fun. Do you want your car to live the life of a kid in a museum house not touching anything, or a spunky one with scrapes, bruises and stories to go with them?
I was a little obsessed with my last car even though it was cheap econobox. That is until some ***** in a truck backed into it and gashed up my front bumper, taking off the license plate. Once that happend I just adopted the "**** happens" schol of thought. That has continued with my mustang. I haven't gotten any big dings yet but I have chips here and there and I dont care because I get so much enjoyment out of the car that it's worth it.

close your eyes when you drive ... That will make you feel better lol
Its going to happen just drive and be happy about driving. I always tell people when they get a new car`to throw a few rocks at it and get it over with right now. Then you won't have to worry as much about it.

Don't worry about getting it dirty, just put some polish & wax on it first so the dirt doesn't hurt the paint then go out & drive
I've got 2 coats of polish & 2 coats of wax on mine so I can just give her a wash or a shot of detail spray every once in a while to keep her looking sharp. Whats the fun of having a great car if you don't use it...these cars were meant to be driven so go out & enjoy then have fun keeping it looking cool on the weekends. Get involved in a local Mustang club (if you haven't already), and go have some fun.

And... approximately how many times a day did you say you wash your hands? lol. I understand where you're coming from. But cars were meant to be driven and Mustangs can't be kept in a barn. They've got to run. Chips happen. Wish they didn't.

Drive her like you stole her...... The dirt will wash off, and the chips just add a bit of character. ( I wish I could spell)
If it is in the garage, you, nor anyone else will enjoy her.
