This is only a guide line but I think the sum is approximately

cubic inch x 16.39 divided by 1000 = litre

so 351 is approximately 5.7 litre

289 - 4.7 litre
302 - 5.0 litre
351 - 5.7 litre
390 - 6.4 litre

like I said its only approximate so someone may know the more accurate sum

multiply liter by 61.1 for a pretty good idea. 5.4*61.1=329.94

i always liked that way better

Using Travis' formula:

4.6L = 281ci
3.8L = 232ci
5.0L = 305ci
5.4L = 329ci
5.8L = 354ci
4.9L = 302ci
4.3L = 260ci
4.7L = 289ci
5.7L = 351ci
7.0L = 427ci
7.0L = 428ci
7.0L = 429ci

Cool! 289? Sounds "small" as opposed to a 4.7 liter!

I've decided to forgo the common displacement units of measurement, because it causes tension amongst the serious gearheads. So for all who are interested, your 4.6L (281cid) engines displace 311.4 tablespoons.

ok it's like this, 351 windsor is 351.85 ci. divided by 60= 5.864 liters. To figure cubic inches you multiply bore X bore X stroke X .7853982 X number of cylinders.
4X4=16
16X3.5=56
56X.7853982=43.98
43.98X8=351.85 cubic inches.
351.85X60=5.864 liters.

In short, you multiply cubic inches X 60 to get liters. You divide liters by 60 to get cubic inches. There are automotive math books floating around that you can figure anything from required cfm airflow to speedometer gear formulas at your local book store.

But how many bushels in a peck?

Tablespoons--that's pretty dang funny!
