CPO buying advise from mustang owners

Hi!

I'm interested in buying a mustang which is a certified pre owned car. Following are the car details-
-2016 Ecoboost premium convertible
-Black color
-30,000 miles driven
-1 owner- was a rental car
-$21,000

I want to ask you all if you think this is a good deal. I personally saw the car and it's in a very good condition, almost new from inside. However, since it was a rental car, I'm not sure if it's safe to buy it since I've heard so much crap about rental cars.

Thanks,
Sankalp

Personally I am not a fan of rental car purchases. So many are abused by customers who just don't give a crap. They hit curbs, floor it too often, play with the 'vert top up and down needlessly, spill food/coffee, etc.. and do just unpleasant things that you would hopefully not do with your own car. If it was a really low mileage example and not driven by too many people, maybe. However with 30k miles on the one you are talking about, no thanks. For a few thousand more you can get a non-rental with lower miles and probably a better ownership experience. Good luck with everything!

I've gotta agree with my friend Dave above. I saw a knucklehead doing burnouts in a Mustang rental in the parking lot of a condo we were staying at in Florida. Plus I'm suspicious of the maintenance on the cars.

My wife brought a rental Charger home a couple years ago, while our Edge was getting warranty work done. I took the keys and headed out the door. My wife asked me, "where are you going"? I told her, "where do you think"!!! I ran the poop out of that thing . I'm 'old', so just imagine what the young people are doing to rentals

Since you are older (like me) you will understand the analogy that rental cars are like Rodney Dangerfield. They get no respect.
