Mine stalls the most when pressing the clutch in after backing up. It has stalled on me back to back three times slowing at a red light before.
They are currently working on making it right so I guess we will see. Like I said it sounds awesome though.

Like I've said before the only one who can do the cam tune is Jon Lund!since he created it!

I have just listened to a jon lund cam tune and it does sound alot different and more defined, so I'll have to give you that part. On the other hand, I do have faith in BAMA and I'm hoping they will make it right.

25bduse,

That's one thing I should have been more clear on from the beginning, but I didn't want to cause more confusion. There very well could be some adjustments needed in your Bama Cam tune to prevent excessive surging or eliminate stalling. I don't want to give the impression the tune couldn't be improved with your setup. Our Bama Team would be happy to make adjustments and prevent those symptoms listed. However, I don't want to mistake the tune for the sound of any excessive play in the drivetrain, resulting in the high pitched banging noise at idle.

If there was excessive clutch chatter, it should quiet down when the clutch is pressed in. It seems like that's not the case for you, by the way you mention it. Correct? If that's the case, then we definitely have more inspecting to do.

I can tell you the sound is NOT engine knock. Engine knock is a much deeper sound that is hard to audibly hear. Most engine knock cases, the user has to preform a datalog to tell knock is even happening. In addition, the Bama Cam tune has less timing and less dynamic compression than our standard Race tune. It would be impossible to have engine knock on our Cam tune and not on the standard Race tune, if used on the same car, gas, etc.. So, please don't worry about internal engine damage from engine knock, with this issue. I honestly suspect the noise lies elsewhere.

First, lets start out with your new Bama Cam tune. Once you get the adjustments sent back to you and uploaded. Take a new videos from the top engine bay and below the car. Try to get the noise before and after the front tire too, if you don't mind. Then we'll start diagnosing from there.

012stang,

I'm sorry you feel that way, but there are other reputable tuners using the Ghost Cam tune, as well as Jon Lund. The information and technology is available to create the Ghost Cam tune, and several experienced tuners have successfully taken advantage of it, such as, Steeda, AED, and Bama.

Again, I'm certainly not discrediting Jon Lund, I'm simply stating there are others who've successfully provided the Ghost Cam tune for 11+ 5.0 Mustangs.

blk_on_blk,

There definitely sounds like some tweaks could be made to your Bama Cam tune to prevent stalling. If you haven't already contacted Bama, send me a PM with any of your previous order numbers. I'll get you in contact with our lead Bama tuner ASAP!

Let me know and I'll get things rolling!

Ok sounds good. And yes I'm pretty sure that I have tried pressing the clutch and the noise was still there. I am looking forward to trying out the next revision. Thanks for replying!!

My pleasure! I'm looking forward to the new tune updates and videos. Don't forget to double check the clutch theory, as well. Just to confirm there's no slack causing the chatter.

Okay, not a problem! When do you plan on getting back to the states?

It may be better to wait until the week your headed back. Then the situation will be fresh in Mike's (lead tuner) mind. In case you need any other revisions, he'll be on top of his game!

Or we can address the issue now, it's completely up to you! I just think the process would be easier if you were able to test it right away.

25bduse,

Our lead tuner is personally taking a thorough look over your file, but he went home sick yesterday afternoon and never came in today. Unfortunately, I won't be able to give you an update Monday morning.

Sorry for the delay! I'll definitely get him in touch with you Monday, assuming he's well enough to come to work.

Just to update everyone on my issue. First, the bama team is awesome!!! Mike has tested my tune file on multiple cars including one with the same computer code. He could not duplicate the problem, which tells me the tune is safe and it must be something with my car. I loaded the tune back in today, completed the idle relearn and drove for 12 miles. It only stalled once while backing after disengaging the clutch. Upon loading the tune back in, I discovered that when I turn the A/C on, the idle changes a little to compensate, which causes what seems like clutch chatter. When I disengage the clutch the noise is gone, which is a big relief, since it doesn't appear to be engine internals. Should I be concerned about the chatter? Once again, thanks BAMA for continuing to help me out.
