ABS plastic info

I am looking at some aftermarket body pieces and I was told by the manufacturer that they are constructed of ABS Plastic. My question is..what are most after market parts made out of i.e. side scoops, window louvers, hood scoops etc?

I would like to know before I buy this if I am going to have any problems with them, especially with prep & painting.

Thanks

There is nothing wrong with ABS- Acrylonitrite Butadiene Styrene. Most aftermarket body appearance mods are made of some type of plastic or fiberglass. The most popular is probably ABS or high pressure injected//reaction molded urethane. If prepped correctly, you should have no problems at all... Most manufactures use the aforementioned materials to include, Xenon, CDC, 3D Carbon, Pacific Motorsports, Street Scene, etc...

Steel is correct!.....All the aftermarket suppliers of Scoops, Spoilers and etc, I've dealt with provide detailed instructions on how their product should be prepped, primed and painted!........
