2009 Ford Mustang 45th Anniversary Air Conditioned problems

I've had this car for 4 years and bought it with less than 10k miles on it. It has 46K. Car runs and drives great, but started blowing warm air last week. I decided to put some freon in it and after getting the can hooked up, finding the low side of the unit and putting on the adapter it wouldn't take the freon. I cranked the car put the ac on high recirculating the air hoping it would aid in removing the freon from the can. No luck. I've never had an issue putting freon in any of my other cars in the past or my truck that I drive daily commuting back and forth to work. Scratching my head! This is my first Ford that I've had except for a Ranger I had back in High School many moons ago. Any ideas of suggestions to help me figure out this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Your blend door actuator is likely not working, and the fail mode for that is 'hot'. Which is nice in the winter, I suppose, but sucks for summer.

It's located on the right side of the plenum assembly, and you can look at it by taking the glove box out of the way, as specified here:

Here's a pic of it, among others, of the part in it's natural habitat:

And here is but one example of a price and a pic of the item in question.

Hope that helps!

If it is not a blend door issue, then you may have been so low on freon that the low pressure switch needs to be jumped to open the system.

did the gauge on the freon read that your system had enough pressure? You did have a gauge on the freon...yes?
