2014 Convertible Top?
I'm about to buy a car out of state and have a question. I recently watched the YouTube vid on the 2015 convertible top and was wondering, does the 2014 have a headliner or is it just the cloth outer shell. They say that the 2015 is three layers. Just wondering how noisy is the car with the top up? Thanks,

I believe the 2014 outer shell is some sort of vinyl and it does have an inner liner. A convertible will never be as quiet as a coupe, but mine is quite decent on the highway.

I'm sure it will be very quiet. My '07, which will now be 8 model years old, is extremely quiet for a convertible. It has a cloth top with an inner headliner. Some 'verts have vinyl tops and I can't answer to that. The 2015 will probably be amazingly quiet no matter what. I will admit that I come from a time when convertible tops were one layer and leaks were 'normal', starting with a '69 Fiat Roadster. Convertibles have come a long way.

We have a '13 GT premium Vert. with the cloth top, and it's is one of the quietest convertibles we have owned. Now mind you that doesn't mean it's whisper quiet, but quiet for a Vert. In the last years (2010- 2014 I know for sure) the V6 Premium Mustang came with a vinyl top, and the GT Premium came with a cloth top.
The sad thing is that I'm out of town, and can't tell you for the life of me if the top has a liner. I'm old, so that's gonna be my excuse......
