If you check the thread about the Bullitt.. you'll see I got in a wreck. Shes all fixed up and chipper now, but mom and dad decided i cost too much to insure (apparently they planned this before my wreck, but yeah..)
SO ive been taken off our insurance plan so i cant drive the II or the Bullitt right now. And my parents are remodeling the house while I'm away so it would make financial sense to sell the car![Frown](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Such is life...
BUT
Mom and Dad HATE my idea of a bike, and sicne for some reason i am stuck to their insurance plan (and i cant insure myself) i have to convince them before I get one. Oddly enough, even though mom mad it very clear my cars are going away, my dad thinks if he hints and fakes that i get the Bullitt back next semester, I'll give up on the bike.
I don't know if hes just lying to me to shut me up, or if hes serious. and on the other hand, a motorcycle would be the absolute cheapest alternative for me. I come home almost every weekend bec my best friend still lives in Redwood City, and if I take public transportation, it would coust about $64 round trip. If dad comes to pick me up, drives me home, drops me back off at school and then drives himself home, gas plus toll money is $68ish.
If I had the bike I want, with its 70mpg goodness, I could make the trip for $9 in gas, plus $4 in toll (only paying it once too) Insurace would also be cheaper than that of the bullitt by about $50 a month, and thats before you factor in the discount i get for taking the safety trainign course before i get my Mlicense. The cost of the vehicle, and my gear, would be $2500 tops, wereas we still owe thousands on the Bullitt.
I just gotta keep working on em I guess.
And thanks for the well wishes with the studies. So far so good, and I'm loving the University. My classes aren't easy, but not too hard either. They're appropriately challenging. Campus is gorgeous, and most people are alright. I just ahte the city, and being so far from my really close friends. When i say really close, I mean like two peices of steel welded together. and then melted down and forged into one bar. lol, yup, I'm an emotional one alright...

^haha. The bike is a good alternative, there's like 100 around here at NCSU. But you can't really ride them in the rain, that kinda sucks. Trust me dude, I know the having friends far away. I've been going to school with the same people for about 6 years solid, all 30 of us. On top of that, I've known alot of those people for 13-14 years. None of them go to school with me, my best friend lives in NH, which I'm gonna take off the week after finals, and bring her home when I come back, and the only time I ever see my other friends, is major holidays. The driving home gets a little irritating, I live about 2.5 hours from my house, and I too go home every weekend. I drive 350 miles a week, and I'm gonna transfer back home, it's soooo much better than a dorm.

Yeah, the lack of cover in rain is kinda negative for the bike, as is the lack of cargo capacity, but its not so bad. I don't need much more than a backpack's worth of stuff for a weekend, and as for the rain.. well.. i just wont ride when its rainy. :P
That 2.5 hour drive is rather un-fun. I'm lucky in that on average it takes 1.5ish hours to get home for me. Hell, all my friends are within a 1.5hour radius from my location, which is nice... if i had my own transportation lol. I can't exactly get my dad to drive my to UCB for a boozefest with my buddies on a whim... lol
My friends and I spent almost all our time with eachother, and we all lived so close that at any given time we could all meet at someone house within 10-15 minutes. Being out here severly limits our random adventure potential. hehe, and what awesome adventures they were...

I actually rather enjoy the 2.5 hour drive, gets my mind off the studying crap. I dont even know how many times I got a "party at my house in 10 min" text, and you gotta go, ya know? And a couple of my friends are going to UCB, I can't imagiine being that far away.
