I bought 6 Koi for my new tank. I got eculyptus, some vines.....
This house is TOO cool. It has a greenhouse off the kitchen and a relax porch off the dining room! I freaking love this house!!! Love this neighborhood, love everything so far.

I don't need marble walls and floors to be happy.Hell, To be honest, I am gladly rid of em! I hated that house. I hated no trees, I hated the neighbors, I hated being 20 plus minutes from everything. I hated being unhappy- it did not work well for me! I like being happy, and I am happy as a pig in mud since I got here!!

Even better- no gas heat(Hell no need for heat at all here). I didn't like fancy, I like normal. Make that, I love normal! Even better- My beloved no longer has to work 18+ hours a day, so we get to spend time together, something else I missed greatly.

This is the coolest thing ever. I love the weather. I love being 5 minutes from everything too.

Thing I learned- normal people shop @ target here. The walmart is GROSS, and covered over with filth.

Hey April, I got a friend workin at Disney over at Space Mountain. She always has to tell me how there's a ton of Mustangs down there... Now she gets to see 2 more

 

Mustangs galore here. I would say the vast majority are rentals though. The door guards and rental tags are dead giveaways- that and they are concentrated on the tourist strip.
Over on my side of town is where the flashy yellows and oranges and GTS are. Someone at my hubbys new office complex has a gt500. I haven't seen it yet.

The thing I am amazed at- Hummers every 3rd car. Porsches, Beemers, Corvettes- LOTS of Zo6es, and the other day I got mesmerized by a yellow Ferrarri and ran into a pothole coming out of a shopping center. I am only 5 minutes from Isleworth though- that accounts for a lot of it(the super rich live there).

Its actually SUNNY out here, I don't think the sun has shone in Alabama since November.

Today I want to gripe and rave about Orange County schools:

I got my kids enrolled in school finally(Florida is odd!! You gotta have hep and tetnaus vaccines and physicals. That took 2 days of planning and a whole long miserable day yesterday of doing stuff.

THEN I find out the fun stuff. School hours here are strange. On the one hand, no more getting up at the butt crack of dawn to have the kids at school by 7:15- But school here runs from 9-4 or 8:45-3 and gets out an hour early on Wednesdays.
Even more fun- we live less than a mile from school- so no bus services.

On the bright side, the school here ROCKS. They are clean. I didn't see one single redneck, and they actually want to teach kids stuff here(no more math teacher more concerned about her wig being straight than teaching kids).

Today I am off to Universal to seek employment there- one for spending cash(totally cool mall here) and two to feed my dueling dragons habit for free. Barring that I want to work at my favorite Italian place.

Yesterday I saw an honest to God Delorean on the road. VERY interesting. This goes in the sea of Z06es(yes those,not regular corvettes),Ferrarris, thousands of Hummers and Beemers. My car used to be the finest one in carpool, now it pales to those.

And yes, I am getting a job @ universal Studios. I always said I would if I moved here. My choices were turnstiles(taking tickets and scanning thumbs), Costume dresser or Ride Operator. I took the funnest one, now i gotta pass an oral interview, background check and drug screen. Two words: FREE TICKETS!!

April... Rollercoasters are, well, my life. I'm going to school to design them and I spend a good portion of my summer riding them. I definitely did not need you to brag about how they're down the street AND open this time of year.

I've been to 20 parks [including all of Disney] and still haven't been to IoA

 

I heard a rumor that there was a "Part Duex" to this thread... I had to read it to believe it, and of course, post in it, cuz I posted in the original!

Yes, I have been gone for sometime... quick update: Kid is healthy, homeschooled, pulling a 4.0. 5'5, and every inch teenager. Hubby is broken, and I mean, disabled. Dec 17th he had a very bad dirt bike accident, and in the beginning there was question about whether or not he would keep the leg. (he did) Well, its now sometime later, he is recovering, and even managed to get himself a killer new job WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL! I have been nurse 24/7... So, thats the good news and bad news all at once!
