Today alone: I didn't have to walk the dog this morning...
I got a custom cake in YELLOW
I played outside all afternoon...
I got taken to dinner.....
I had flowers delivered.....
AND I went to the movies.
He went to his guitar cave cause he said my obsessive viewing of Barrett Jackson was making him ill(the morons buying them, not me watching for the third straight day).
Tomorrow-
I get presents
I get dinner
I get more presents

He's a keeper! Happy birthday! Roses seem to like bloodmeal/bonemeal, but dogs do too! We planted 12 bushes once. They were beautiful! Neighbor told me about the bloodmeal/bonemeal, the roses thrived... until Yellow Lab was left out of kennel unattended. She dug up every one! Good luck with your yard, it sounds like you have a lot to be happy about today!

My method of gardening is: Oh look an empty spot.. . My house came with five boxwoods, two azaleas and three things with pink blooms on em. Not!
Also, little known fact, twice a year the Nurseries, and Lowes put their stuff on clearance. It still plants the same, but its not pretty when you buy it. Last fall I got over $100 worth of plants from Lowes for (sit down) $18.
For my birthday I got $300 worth of trees and shrubs and bushes- for $49. NOT counting the roses.
Brian knows- I love Roses but cut ones make me sad- so instead of buying me a dozen roses that will be dead in a week- he buys me a dozen that will live forever.
I garden out front, where no Dogs are allowed.
Last years effort. The builder let us start doing stuff a week before we closed(Because of the great summer of building that went awry so we had to buy a spec house), so I did all this before we actually owned the house:
NOW I have added trees, shrubs, bushes, vines, roses...Those empty spots are now gone. Pics soon.

Bought house 15 years ago, it was 8-10 years old already. Previous owners had not planted a thing! We were kind of poor just getting into the house and all, and not much money left for landscaping. The roses I mentioned were bought at Walley World on clearance for .50 a plant. I became Queen of sale items! A neighbor had this really green thumb and would give us plants, trees and shrubs that came up from seed for her. Over time the yard has really taken shape. Most people assume I have a really green thumb, but truth is I am stubborn and persistant! Something dies, I plant something else, eventually something lives! Now we have birds nesting, hummers visiting and butterflies galore! It sounds and looks like you are off to a great start-best of luck with your new plants! Oh-try to find a spot for a hammock, they're great!
