Why is TMS getting so SOFT!!!!!

I have been on this forum since 2006 and have never seen this amount of threads getting shut down. It seems as if if there is a slight argument in a thread it gets shut down. I posted in a thread to the OP yesterday and said something along the lines of, "you have to watch what you say because there are post editing ****'s around here." Not only did my post get deleted but the thread got shut down. This isn't the only thread im referring too but there have been numerous threads that I have followed, have been really interested in, only too click the mouse on the next page and the thread is shut down! Why would that post get deleted?? Why are so many threads being shut down??? Why is this forum getting so soft??? I figure this thread will get shut down pretty fast, but I wanted to express my frustration!

I think it's good that someone is keeping an eye on things, but I do agree that some threads aren't given much of a chance.
I think what bothers me more then shutting down threads where people are throwing stones at each other are the threads new people start that become moved or closed because the topic has been covered before... Anyone that has used the search function knows its less then accurate most of the time. I feel we all come here for the love we all share of the mustang. If someone has a question about something that's been covered before so what. If two people have differing opinions on something let them debate it. If threats are made then I can see a moderator stepping in. Just my .02

If a thread gets slightly out of hand or someone curses it seems like the thread gets shut down. Can't we have a little bit of fun, or see a little bit of drama?? I understand certain threads need to be shut down but it seems like it has been getting a little out of hand lately...

Moving to 'Testing, Feedback' section, but will leave a link for a few hours . . .

And feel free to share 'actual' links to all the threads getting shut down. It is kind of hard to offer insight without any supporting information.

The site has lightened up a good bit just since I have been here. There are quite a few total degenerate sites out there and I think they are just trying to keep this one a couple notches above those. No help from me of course.
I do think that this site needs just one smack down fight club thread. But that's probably not a good idea.

I am completely honest when I say I have no idea what the OP is talking about. I've shut down some threads that got raunchy but that's nothing new. Most threads get
closed because they have served their purpose and all that's left is the useless bantering between a handful of jokers. Others are closed because that's all they ever were was useless.

Please cite the specific threads.

Perfect example.., I have never even been to the testing, feedback forum. Lots of topics and sub topics on here but little to no action on many of them.

So are you suggesting a 'Guided Tour' for members that have a hard time scrolling through the sections to find the proper section?

Oh come on! You guys are going to play brain dead now?

Everybody knows **** (damm) good and well that the now previous owners tightened up and turned tms into church.

I understand merging threads (cause vBulletin search SUCKS!). But the crack down this past year has been commented on ad nauseum.

If you are NOT getting infractions, you are NOT doing it right.

Way to contribute! Thanks . . . .

If a member has an issue with a specific thread, post, etc. it is helpful for the TMS staff to have some cited evidence.

Sorry you feel so repressed in this forum to which you joined. And furthermore TMS has always been run a certain way and will continue to be run in this manner. The issue is that there are more members (Thank you) and more posts that need attention and I venture to guess this will continue as well . . .

It is much tighter than when I joined. You are acting as if you haven't been around. Or trying to change history.

I understand family friendly and trying to keep runaway arguments from running away too far and keeping the most vulgar language and/or pics off the site. But the censorship and quick shutdowns have become ridiculous on a public forum.

So as a mod, why don't you list all the closed threads from the past 6 or 12 months and let members see...

PS: you can claim or brag about new members all day long, but thedaily post count remains well below those of a few years back. And just because a bunch of non members were on doesn't mean anything. Not if they don't post and join in. Nothing personal here, but let's stop kidding each other.

It isn't a public forum . . . as a member you signed up to join.

And why would you (or anyone) want to see a listing of closed threads? Are you planning to audit TMS?

To prove you guys are covering what has happened for some reason.

And regardless if I join or not, it is still a public forum on the internet. I can google or not sign in and read about anything I want.

And with all those new members you commented on, why are less than 100 signed on and posting??

(95 members and 730 guests)

Covering what has happened?! I think I've heard it all now . . . TMS Forum Conspiracy!!

One can't post unless one is a member . . . and one can't be a member unless one joins.

And I would think a ~350pm EST might have something to do with the number of members currently signed on . . . .

It has definitely tightened up lately. I noticed it a few months back but didn't think too much about it. After I posted a harmless joke about the OP needing to watch what he said around here in a thread yesterday and comming back today to see that my post had been deleted made me realize something was different. My post simply being deleted like that really irratated me. I have always been good with appropriate content in my post. If that post was inappropriate I really want to know what is going on?? I have been noticing more sponsors lately, maybe that could be a reason??
