The one thing I miss about our old forum software was how much control we had over the language filters. vBulletin isn't as robust in that area.
We don't impose our rules and filters as a matter of religious preference, but rather of personal preference. One of our members told me the other day that some other Mustang forums were so bad that they were being blocked by the Internet security software in their workplace.
The Mustang hobby is unique in the automotive world in that the cost of entry is so cheap, but the values can reach as high as any muscle car. I love the car because it's so many things to so many different people. It's a hobby that a 7-year old child can enjoy as much as a 70-year old man, and this web site should be too.
There are plenty of places to find **** on the Internet. I don't think The Mustang Source needs to be another.
Now for a religious point: If you put your faith in mankind, you will always be disappointed.

You can call the sky green all you want but it won't change the fact that it is blue.
I would love to hear what you believe is the path to heaven, please share.
And Clark Kent, let's keep the name calling out of this thread (or any other TMS thread.)
Wow! Been away out of town for quite some time and this is the first thread I come back to! Very interesting that the two extremes, (religion and ****) generate simular sharp and swift reactions. Good examples of what happens on forums. A thread can quickly divert off topic and the tone will change comepletly by the end of "X" number of replies. Same goes for a forum as a whole. Starts out and things go as the creator intended for a time, people will join, and drop off etc. After word gets out and the number of members go up, the topics get saturated and the direction or "personality" if you will of the membership can change from what the mods want to see on thier site. Just the natural way of things I think. Also we tend to start getting comfortable with each other, to the point of feeling like friends, even though we have never met! An aspect by the way that I think is cool. Love this site! I also do most of my surfing at work, and have to be very careful about what comes up. I don't want to look at, or read anything obscene anyway, which was a great benifit to this site about the cars I love, and that's the point isn't it? This site is about mustangs. Yes, there is an off topic section, but if the creator and mods of the site want to keep it clean, I think we should honor that, as a way of saying thank you for the site. Lastly, religion. Boy what a hot button that can be! I'm a christian as well. A practicing one. I go to church three times a week. But I never push it on anyone or judge anyone. I try to live my life as an example, and if you see something that makes you want what I have I'll gladly help you find it, but I can visit one of the many religious forums anytime I want. This one's for Mustangs! Peace.
I agree with you on this one totally, and I was raised Catholic. I am disgusted by the arrogance of some religions believing that THEIRS is the only path to "salvation". GIMME A BREAK. Pure ignorance if you ask me. What these people fail to realize is that religion is a "man made" construct. It is NOT made by God, assuming you believe in him.

Thank you for that breath of fresh air. Yes God simply sent people like Jesus, and others, to preach to people on how to live good and moral lives and to not forget God in the process. Religons come in many different forms, and they are all equally good if they aid in a person living a good moral life. Where he serves the community, and works hard and honest, takes care of his family, and refrains from sin. Membership alone does not entail entitlement. And sorry to the mod this will be my last post on this subject.
Also Dark Knight I will not be PMing you simply because it seems as you have your mind already made up, and you simply asked for my opinion from a smug and self righteous stand point, and I do not wish to have a discourse with you based upon that type of attitude. I hope you make it to heaven as I wish everyone else does, but hopefully your mind opens up b4 that time, and you understand that accepatance of all mankind as your brothers and equals is what God wants and not for you to have a superiority complex towards others.
thanks for listening or not, and sorry for offending anyone if I did that was not my intention

To quote Salma Hayek from the movie Dogma: "When are you people going to learn? It's not about who's right or wrong. No denomination's nailed it yet, and they never will because they're all too self-righteous to realize that it doesn't matter what you have faith in, just that you have faith. Your hearts are in the right place, but your brains need to wake up."

This has been extremely entertaining.
I have no problem with the content of this forum. If a particular post or thread bugs me (or if I just think it's stupid), I disregard it.
Someone else may find that post amusing or they may also just blow it off. [Yeah, some of the name-calling (when not done in jest) is a turn-off but that's more a reflection of the poster than anything else.]

"Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important."

Heck this site was built while Brad and myself were at our real jobs
