The admins might want to be a little less itchy on the trigger when it comes to locking threads. Doing it so quickly loses the chance for the participants in the thread to tie up loose ends.
Unless a thread's devolved to "you're rubber, I'm glue" maybe consider letting them work themselves out.

You know what, I have half a mind to lock this.
Wait, I cant. Too bad. Whatever, as others have pointed out, PM is the best way to handle loose ends, and if your rubbernecking the thread, just to see the insults being thrown, there is much more interesting material to be read in the forums.
