Have any of you thought about an app for the Kindle Fire? The web site works great, but an app would be quicker and easier. Just a thought, thanks for a great site guys!

 

Why would they make an app for the one person that owns one?

Lol... I was thinking about a Nook... But want an iPad.

 

Well, it really depends. An iPad is going to cost you $500+. The fire is $200 and does a lot of the same things. You have to decide what you will use it for and then decide how much you want to spend.

 

Thanks... I need to do some research. I know I want a tablet or something of the sort. The iPad is really expensive. You like the Kindle?

 

Yeah considering that I already have a laptop and a smart phone I don't need the other things the iPad offers. The kindle can do netflix, hulu, e-mail, web browsing etc.

 

Sweet. That is good to know. I'll be upgrading my iPhone in Jan. so ill have my phone back that's not broken. Maybe something like that would work for me too. Thanks!

Any of the other 7in tablets have a kindle app available and also a TMS app. Samsung galaxy tab is what I have. Pretty nice.

 

IDK maybe one running android.

IMHO, my iPad2 does not do enough and I can only imagine how much a $200 Kindle Fire does (or doesn't do).

 

Then you need a laptop, not a tablet.

 

I want to blog and edit my photography... I can do it on my laptop but think I should just spend that money on a MacBook or something.

I am not into apps and this lump of electronics is too big to carry around.

I have learned my lesson.

 

Nothing that can't be done on a pc with the right software but of course we are venturing into a whole other convo

 

Kindle Fire is running Android with a heavy Amazon skin over it. There are ways to side-load apps, but they were broken with the latest update. You'll need to hack/root it to allow for that. I got my g/f one for Christmas and she's already asking me to root it for her.
