i was thinking maybe we can run some type of raffle for like a catback exhaust system for members.it can raise money for the site here as well. we can do something like this:

if the system costs $400 lets say, we can do raffle tickets at $5 apiece or so and have a minimum amount of tickets set at 80 tickets. that way if we dont get enough interest in it, though i think interest would be overwhelming, the site wouldnt lose any money, however if we get like 300 tickets sold or so, that extra money can be used for future raffles, site maitenence, maybe even make some The Mustang Source T-shirts or whatnot. i think it could be a great idea and id be happy to coordinate it if you'd like as well...

I don't think it would work honestly. I think merchandise is the only way to go.
