Performance Trilogy on CD. I have to remove the video from the club's site, so I'm offering it on CD. Would you rather have it sent in a paper sleeve or pay $5 more to have it sent in a jewel case? What do you think is a fair price for the CD?

If the paper sleeve is cardboard, the sleeve will be fine. As far as price . . . . are you going to include shipping in the price?

How does 5-6 dollars sound? Am I low or high?

The price won't include shipping. I have to charge $5 or I lose money. I was thinking $8-10.

Sounds about right.

Yeah, the 5-6 range would be a little low to include shipping!

Keep us informed on when to buy . Maybe I'll purchase the T-shirt, and CD at the same time!

Make it a compilation cd with the video and stills (highrez) of the car
I'd pay 15 for that.

Brad, if you are going to use Cafepress to make this, they have some strict "rules" involving copyright/trademark issues--if you use a vehicle photo or photo-realistic art work, they may require you to submit a release letter from the vehicle manufacturer.

Check out their copyright/trademark section. Here's something from it:

NO pictures or photographs of products (such as automobiles or toys). Even if you own a product, trademark laws still prohibit you from selling merchandise featuring pictures of it. For example, you cannot take a picture of your car and then sell t-shirts or mugs with that picture.

So drawings are OK?

Does stangnet.com have to pay a license fee for their renderings on their T-shirts?

StangNet does not. I think the unspoken rule is that Ford doesn't really care if you're promoting their product.

I think this is more of a Cafepress "rule," other printers may not be so limiting. You can get a release for the OEM to use your own pictures of cars and cafepress will accept that. To use trademarked names and logos, I think, requires a licensing agreement -- don't know how hard that would be to get from Ford. (I just started checking into that to see how it could effect my artwork.)

I have a little leeway in that I'm doing "original" artwork, I just have to walk a fine line with trademarked logos and names. Wicked Art does designs like mine, but has stopped selling them to U.S. customers because of legal troubles. As long as I just do commissioned work, not mass market, my stuff seems to be okay.
