What’s the standard amount of pressure

Hello,
Hey I have a question? I have an older fox body Stang with the 5.0 1989 to be exact. The odometer says it only has 30,000 miles interior wise, engine wise and underneath the vehicle does appear to indicate that is correct. My question is how much pressure should be applied to the clutch or what is the standard amount? I’m inclined to believe that there should be a bit more pressure needed to press the clutch in , than say a Miata or Honda S2000. Given the difference in torque. And should the clutch pedal be aligned with the gas and brake pedal? Or does it matter? Thank you. Everything seems to be working correctly just a curiosity I would appreciate anyone’s input.

I say if your clutch is not slipping, smelling funny as in smoking your clutch disk, grinding into gears, popping out of gear, excessive pedal play and or no play. I would just drive it normally. A longer arm on the clutch pedal will make it easier to push the clutch in. I am sure as Ford intended. How far do you have to push the pedal down before your clutch engages?

Thanks for the feedback Glenn, I am not experiencing any unusual smells or sounds thank god. I do have to press the clutch to almost the floor to engage. No slipping or disengaging.

I also had an '89 manual and I remember the clutch was very stiff. The engagement was also towards the end. I can't give you any specifics other than that. But as stated by other posts if it is all working than maybe someone altered it to ease the clutch pedal stiffness. I remember a lot of people were doing that especially those with bad knees.

Thanks Mustang Frank, Cool. fun car to drive especially putting the top down and listening to the exhaust . I was just curious if it was normal for it to require some effort to press the clutch to engage . From what you guys have told me it sounds normal which I assumed myself.
Thanks again.
