New here... someone convince me to buy!
The name is Eric. Im from East Tennessee, and I have owned nothing but F-bodies all my life. Go ahead and boo me, but just keep in mind I am not a brand loyal ****. I respect a nice American muscle car regardless of the make.
Here recently, I have fell in love with the 2011-2012 5.0's, and I have fallen hard. Love the Kona and the Candy Red, but Race Red is starting to grow on me. I love the way the car feels inside and I love the way it looks.
CONVINCE ME TO BUY!!!
Heres a pic of the 99... not sure if I could sell her, But im also not sure if her and a 5.0 could get along in the garage.

Both are pretty valid convince stories lol. I guess what I really should have said was, on a 11-12 model standpoint... What do i need to look out for? Weaknesses, possible problems, so on and so forth. I will buy new, whether its a leftover 2011, or a 2012 that just arrived.
Thanks in advance!

Just need to be aware that some have had problems with hard shifting, flywheel bolts
backing out, and assorted rattle complaints, otherwise it's a great car. Mine is in shop
waiting for new clutch, flywheel, and bolts, but I LOVE this car. That is what warrantys
are for. It will put a smile on your face every time you start it....
ps: the f body will be jealous.

The Bird will get along well with the Stang. I had an '02 WS6 TA in Sunset Orange and that bird got along great with the '02 GT sitting beside it. Pure coincidence they both were '02s btw. lol.
Nothing wrong with stacking your deck with cards of a different suit. Variety is the spice of life.

Welcome Eric. I've been a GM fan forever also. I have had fbodies and mustangs. Just depends what you buy a car for. I personally think that the 11-12 mustangs are very bland looking from the factory. But with a little customizing, they can look great. The camaro looks ok but I am tired of seeing them. And every one that I've seen customized is ugly. So it's your choice as to what one feels better when you are driving it. Personally I think that the stang is a better drivers car.

The looks of the 11-12 look great to me, especially with the Brembo uprgraded rims and some lowering springs.

Even with the troubles that some have had, mine even has the hard shifting. Likely to be fixed soon with a MGW shifter and Redline fluid change! I would still buy it again. It's a fantastic car. Ive driven the Camaro's and it doesnt feel like a comfortable car at all. Plus the mods you can do really help make the car your own. Here is something to maybe help convince you! LOL
Personally, after extensively test driving and renting both the 2010 Camaro and a 2011 Mustang GT, I just had to go with the Mustang! I even drove a Dodge Challenger for a day and even though I like it's lines and space better, the price and power as compared to the Stang just tossed that idea right out the window.
Get the Mustang, mod away and enjoy the hell out of it!
