I wish my dad would have had something as cool as my Mustang for me to drive to my prom. I belive he would have let me drive it, but I was the youngest of 5 so he was driving a 4 door sedan by that time. I think the coolest car my dad had was a 68 Ford 500Xl 2 door with the 390 engine. My older brothers got to drive it and when my dad asked if they burned any rubber , my bother Terry admitted he did. He said" you wouldnt want me to let a Chevy beat me would you?" My brother was a bit of a smart hiney back then anyway.

I take my son and his friend to the Y to work out and they both still ooh and aah about my car. And my sons friend has a 91 Mustang with all sorts of mods of course.

As for the back set in these cars, they aint no 4 door sedan , the back seats are only good for a local trip, I doubt any boy could convince any girl to climb in there for any thing other than a short trip, let alone any mischeif.

So did you ask him to describe how uncomfortable the back seats really are on these 05's???
They aren't that bad if you put the front seats all the way forward

.. I mean, backseat? what backseat?

That's terrific that you put the appeal to good use for a friend's kid. Good Job!

I wish I could say I'd do the same but I can't. It has nothing to do with not trusting my boys - I don't trust the other kids.

I used to eat lunch at the local mall several times a week. They have open campuses here so the kids are allways there for lunch. No big deal - gave me a chance to drop my jaw at what parents let their daughters wear to school these days.

Anyways I'd allways part my new GT out by itself in the lot. One day some kid keyed the passenger side rear quarter pannel - cost me $600 to fix it.

I don't go to the mall anymore and I'm hesitant to drive it anywhere I won't be with her. She may just be a car, but she's My car and I don't like no one messing with her!

gutsy move.. and a great gesture - one I know I wouldnt have made.. Now by the time my daughter gets to the prom - dont know what I will do, by then the car will be 10 yrs old and I might relent..

She already talks about the car like she will be driving it one day...

Talking

Not only was your friends son pleased but I'm sure you were too. It really is a cool feeling when you let someone take your car for a special night. I let my sister and her date take my 2000 out for their prom night. Her date practiced driving a 5 speed for 3 weeks before the prom and my car made it back in one piece.

Here are some pictures from that night..

I asked my parents if I could take our Jaguar XJ6 to the prom if I went and they said I could. It's kind of pointless now though .. after all the bad dance experiences I've had, I don't even see the point in going. My parents don't even really want me going now either. Let's see, the one dance I actually found a date for .. well my date got "smashed" before the dance and then ditched me in the dance. I've had bad luck at all dances ever since Freshman year. I'm not sure why I even bother going anymore . I guess I just keep hoping one of these days things will go my way. Yet - they never do. :bang: I feel the same way about my web work. It's frustratin. Sorry . . just having a rough year and time with life lately. Of course, I drive the king daddy of cool cars for a high schooler to own: 1995 Mercury Sable LS in what color? White .. doesn't get much more plain-jane than that .. unless it was a GS with no options and the 3L. Uggh.

Yeah, it's a little hard to get girls to notice you when you're a nice, quiet guy who drives a boring car ... *sigh*
