Did the trade today and drove 300km bringing it home. Took it cool and drove between 100 and 125 kph. Using the message centre for reference I got 23mpg . I was very pleased!!!! The stripes , I decided , were Mickey Mouse and they are being removed before I officially take delivery on Monday or Tuesday. I felt like acelebrity with all the looks we got. What an ego builder!! I love it , It has the spirit of the sixties stangs that I owned.

Congrats, Karrnutt. I am your same age and understand completely, first car was a '52 Ford and I've had over 50 since, including my fair share of 'stangs, mostly verts.
I can see how you got into the Escape and then decided on the 'stang. I traded my '01 Escape on my current '03 GT vert. I have a yellow '05 vert on order.
For a few years I thought I may have recovered somewhat from being bitten by the car bug early on in life. Then Ford brought out the '89 SHO, and I got the first one in my part of the country. It seems you just never completely recover once bitten. My wife's a 'stang fan also, she had a brand new yellow '70 Mach 1, 351 Cleveland, Hurst shifter, when I met her.

OK, you wanted pics, here's one of my 'Mellow Yellow'.[attachmentid=11929]
