HI All,
I recently purchased a 2007 Vista Blue V6 (5spd) Mustang. It is my teenage son's first car.
He is really enthusiastic about getting it looking good, and working together with his old man on it. I am enthusiastic cuz i haven't had a car to play with in decades.
A prior owner did some "work" on it that we will spend some time undoing.
-We already removed crappy side window covers. Working on the double sided tape.
-We have removed the GT emblems... (who would drive a V6 and advertise it as a GT?)
-Working on taking off the window tint that appears to have been installed by my dog, or somebody with similar abilities.
-Removed the poor fitting hood scoop, exposing 7 drill holes in the hood!... ugh.
-Looking at a hood that had racing stripes painted (poorly)... look good from a distance, but not up close.
Other "mods" on this car.
-dual exhaust and GT style rear bumper to accommodate the tailpipes.
-17" GT "style" wheels that were painted flat black... (poorly)...they even painted over the center caps... good grief.
-LED fog lights that aren't hooked up to anything...
Otherwise, she looks good, and runs good.
I look forward to seeing what folks are doing with their cars, and asking questions and getting help with ours!
Congrats! Looks like your son is going to be taught right. Just makes me sad to see a nice looking car abused to "enhance" its looks. Sounds like you are setting things right. Keep us updated with pictures as it goes through the transformation back to it's better self.
