The convert
Hi all. I titled this as such because I grew up driving Chevys and I confess there was a time when I sneered at mustangs. That was back in the day of the mustang ii. Well anyway please welcome me to your ranks.
I have a 2012 GT convertible on order. Performance white with brick red leather 6 speed. I have been waiting since early December. Dealer says mine will be one of the last 5 built and should be in late feb. I am very anxious.
As a Chevy guy, I never really even considered a camaro. I was thinking about a 07 or 08 C7 Vette but didn't think it would make a good daily driver. When I read about the return of the 5.0 and the coyote project I was sold on the stang. Actually what really brought me back to Ford was an 09 Loaded Fusion I bought with sync (which my 17 year old daughter promptly totaled in less than a year. Yes I learned from this, and I think she did too.). The main thing was she walked away unharmed and it crunched just as engineered.
I look forward to learning from you all and hopefully in time contributing. I am already thinking about buying an SVT brAke upgrade kit, but I,ll probably wait a year or two to do that. I keep my cars a long time (assuming my kids don t wreck them.)
Regards, rednebmb. NJ
PS. No one else in this house can drive a stick, so the new car should be safe!
