Buying My First Mustang

Well after 44 years it should be coming next week. I have been practical all my life so have a 1998 Ford F150 fully restored and a 2007 Prius which I am about to give to my wife. I decided to buy a Mustang. 2014 V6 Mustang Ruby-Red metallic with 6 speed manual premium with the pony package convertible. Wow what a mouth full. I have had the hardest time finding the one I want. I have to say I am more than ready. Have a lot of questions. Oh I do have a question and maybe some of you can answer it. If I wanted the above car in an automatic I could have one tomorrow. It took me 3 and half weeks to find this car. Why would anyone not want to drive the above car in a manual. After all it's a MUSTANG.

Welcome aboard!
Great choice in color! I love my manual transmission. Sometimes it stinks when you are stuck in traffice, but unless I was going to drag race, I wouldnt buy an auto.

Well, i can see why somebody would buy an auto. If they commute a lot / health issues / drag racing / or just because they prefer not to row through gears all the time and would rather just cruz! I picked the manual for one reason and one reason only " flat out fun" i just get a thrill when grabbing gears and hitting that perfect down shift!

If God wanted us to drive automatics, he would have only given us one leg.

Congrats on the new wheels.

Congratulations. You're going to love it. I sure love mine. I ordered mine with the automatic because I had driven one for a week (rental) and found I could shift when I wanted to but did not HAVE to shift if I didn't want to. I used the SelectShift button extensively on twisty mountain roads during a just-completed two week road trip, but was happy to let it shift for me a lot of the time.
