(((RING))))

**Pick Up**

"Hello?"

"Hi honey, this is Daddy, Is Mommy near the phone?"

"No Daddy, She's upstairs in the bedroom with Uncle Frank"

After a brief pause, Daddy says, "But
honey, you haven't got an Uncle Frank"

"Oh yes I do and he's upstairs in
the room with Mommy, right now"

***Brief Pause***

"Uh, okay then, this is what I want you to do.
Put the phone down on the table, run upstairs
and knock on the bedroom door, and shout
to Mommy that Daddy's car just pulled into
the driveway"

"Okay Daddy, just a minute"

A few minutes later the little
girl comes back to the phone.

"I did it Daddy"

"And what happened honey? " he asked

"Well, Mommy got all scared, jumped out of bed
with no clothes on and ran around screaming.
Then she tripped over the rug, hit her head on
the dresser and now she isn't moving at all! "

"Oh my God!!! What about your Uncle Frank? "

"He jumped out of the bed with no clothes on too.
He was all scared and he jumped out of the back
window and into the swimming pool. But I guess
he didn't know that you took out the water last week
to clean it, he hit the bottom of the pool and I think
he's dead"

***Long Pause***

***Longer Pause***

Then Daddy says,

"Swimming pool??

.. . . Is this 555-7039??

thats hilarious!

Speaking of wrong numbers... on my old phone, I used to have this old guy call thinking it was his teenage daughters cell phone. Obviously her number was close to mine. I finnally shut him up once after i told him "hang on while i get her.. she's putting her clothes back on". I think the guy had a heart attack and started yelling cussing and as many things as you could imagine.. then i told him he dialed the wrong number again.

As a person who rarely uses a cell phone, I am trying to figure out why you have a cell phone with you in class in the first place, let alone have it on or not silenced. What did your teacher say or do? I'm not trying to rip on you, but I just don't get it. Do teachers tolerate these things now? When I was in H.S. cell phones were not like they are now and I can't picture my teachers putting up with that even if they were.

well they are allowed now, but they're uh... s'posed to be off
these days i dont think there is anyone who doesnt have their phone with them n on @ all times. occasionally we txt eachother when class gets boring...

i hope my teachers arent members of this site....

mine is usually on silent or vibrate but things got hectic this morn n i forgeted. this is because its also my alarm clock.

luckily my teacher wasnt po'd. i remember one time, he answered the phone for another student. man was that funny.

but when my friend yelled out "FOX NFL THEME!"

most teachers dont tolerate them. but my teachers i have are usually cool about it. it just depends on the teacher.

he was like, "wow, u know ur channels"

oh, ,another reason i have it with me is for the clock. the one in the class is covered by a piece of ppr that say "timeless zone"

yeah

I dated a guy once that worked nights. He would call me in the morning when he got home. One morning the phone rings and I hear "Good morning, baby" The um, conversation continued for several minutes until I called the mystery man the wrong name. He was like "Who is this??!!" And I'm all "Who the are you?!" He apologized for dialing the wrong number and ended by saying it was nice talking to me. I BET!

I used to get a call a couple of times a week from a teenage girl asking for Joe ( her boyfriend) I knew Joe and he lived nearby . I kept telling her wrong # but this went on for weeks, so one night when she asked for JOE I said hold on, put down the phone for a minute and then came back and told her he was on the toilet, she said thanks and hung up, she never called again.

I can top it......

When I lived in Virginia Beach YEARS ago.....My phone number was one number off a "pleasure line" the only difference was in the area code. My area code was 804......the line was 800...My family thought forever we were operating a pay site out of our apartment.

Currently some crack ho is using my telephone number as hers- I have two very cool phone numbers, in sequence. This wench used my main line to hook up power, tried to order pizza with it(although she used the pizza place I use and they called me to verify it), her bill collectors are forever calling me......I have taken to telling them she has passed away(creatively) or has been incarcerated.

Apparently Bell didn't wait the standard time to reassign the telephone number?

Oh and I am happily Cell Phone free........
