Vegas may be the only place I've eaten as good as Nola. Some great steaks in Vegas.

Indeed, had to break a friend of the habit. Although you'll notice there is a parallel between people using steak sauce and well done steaks.

Which reminds me, break the horns off mine pass it through the flame and make sure it screams when I stab it with a fork.

When I go to a restaurant and order a steak its usually '' make that rare-rare please''

Wish I could say the same, I've had some that as my old man used to say ''I wouldn't feed this **** to my dog''

Which btw, always made the rest of the family cringe when an unsuspecting server used to walk by and ask how the meal was.

I really think that was ploy by my dad to get out of going to a restaurant, after awhile we just settled for takeout if mom didn't want to cook that night.

Strip and filet - very lean, sear on both sides and put it on the plate.

I did a New York strip on the old Weber this evening. About 1/8"-1/10" of brown on the outside and Race Red on the inside! Went down well with a baked 'tater and combination salad, plus all the iced tea I could drink. It doesn't take much to make me happy.

I love a Weber. Gas, charcoal, etc., my favorite cooking instrument for steaks.

No gas... I've ruined too many steaks that way. It's charcoal, first, last, and always. Rub that chunk of cow meat well with a clove of garlic; salt and pepper to raste, and let it sit there a little bit prior to slapping it down on a HOT grill. About four minutes to the side if it's cut around 1" thick. If you don't like it, I'll eat it for you! I'm helpful, like a Boy Scout that way.
