Just installed my Christmas present.

A gas log set in the fireplace. So far in still alive and the house is not yet burned down.

They'd probably dump it down the sink and make Gary play plumber at midnight again.

Or make a bigger mess than the original one--on purpose.

I'm gonna say it's ceramic

Came in three pieces. Antlers have dowels that fit inside the head.

I've got one more present. A giant aluminum Concorde

I like it. I'd prefer a real one, but that's just the outdoorsman in me. It looks really good.

I'm a bit surprised by the Concorde...doesn't seem like something you'd like...

I like the stag. Don't feel like spending the money to hunt and stuff a real one. This works good for me.

As a kid and even a teenager in high school I had all kinds of model planes hanging from my ceiling. It's the architect in me. I built model cars, planes, and boats with great detail and correct paint inside and out. I remember when I had knee surgery I had painted hundreds of tiny Prussian, British, and Napoleanic soldiers for a battle scene I did. These little guys were like 1/2" tall.

I was extremely eccentric back then. Or nerdy. But I did get laid too. And wasted. And played football. So go figure.

I've been wanting to play that game. Need a guitar first though. How is it?

Both of those bolded statements describe me to a tee. I was a model-building nut, and if it wasn't painted with period-correct or military-correct colors, it wasn't done. I used to build dioramas, I've got a train table in the garage that is half-finished (will probably finish it when I get the house built), I still have my paints, brushes, knives, etc. I'm still **** about stuff like that, but I don't build much anymore because it seems I've always got something else that needs doing.

My price and joy was a 1/350th Tamiya USS Enterprise and USS New Jersey.

As far as planes went everything was the biggest scale I could find. B-1B, B-17, B-29, B-36, B-52, sr-71, and my favorite B-58

The house we lived in was remodeled by my dad and I. The house originally had a two story atrium in the center with skylights. We put my bedroom upstairs with its own bath and my planes would hang under the skylights like they were in the clouds. It was the most wicked room any boy could have. Complete solitude also. I had giant 3 way Technics speakers and a Kenwood amp pre-amp setup. Life was good.

People around here (especially my uncle) would have a sheetfit to see fake taxidermy on the wall.

My real antlers are laying in the attic. Never had money for a proper mount back then. I simply don't have that kind of time anymore between work and family.
