Been addicted to "can't stop the fire" by Bill Conti that's on the rocky balboa: the best of rocky soundtrack. Just pumps you up. Think I had it on repeat for like an hour yesterday

My God his voice is fantastic. I can cover it VERY well, enough to make people cheer in a honky tonk, but its just that, a cover. The cigs, drugs, and whisky help a lot to cover his songs, but I don't have the true sound he has, I just mimic it. Or maybe his sound is the drugs, smokes and whisky. Either way, he is a BAMF'er.

I've often said that Cornell is one of the best singers at least of our time. Especially with some of his early Soundgarden stuff. Would love to hear him do something with Zakk Wylde. I think that would be a killer combo.

Badmotorfinger is a top 5 album of mine and displays his voice really well. Even got part of the album cover tattooed lol. He did thank you by zeppelin acoustic on the stern show and it's incredible. YouTube has several versions of it also I will always love you from Whitney's pretty good cover lol.

Yep I must have went through 3 cassettes of Badmotorfinger before I had a CD player. Lol. The entire album is a masterpiece.

Late one night in the fall of 1969 a band was recording a track for a new album but it just didn't seem right, something just didn't work. They decided they needed a woman to sing a back up track to the song and the producer started calling around to people he knew. About midnight he managed to get a woman on the phone, who was very pregnant and ready for bed in her night gown and curlers in her hair. He asked if she could come down to the studio and do a few vocals in the chorus. She almost refused, not wanting to be seen in her state of ready for bed and in curlers but after talking to her husband she came anyway.

Little did she know at the time, but she was singing a track for the Rolling Stones, whom she didn't even know who they were. What she laid down on tape would go on to be one of the defining songs of a generation, and one of the most powerful rock songs ever written. IMO, her vocals made that song what it is, its some impressive stuff.

Her name? Merry Clayton, a name you will likely never hear but she deserves credit for shaping an era.

I think she completely made that song and possibly a small part of the Stones future.

Quite possibly the greatest collection from the greatest bands of that time. Jesus Christ Pose is still my favorite Soundgarden song.
