Tony Stewart backtracks, says Nascar not fixed

What's up with Tony Stewart? He's been a bit unhinged lately.

Stewart backtracks, says NASCAR not fixed
Two-time champ admits he hurt ‘integrity of the sport’ with initial remarks
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18353487/

Things like this make me question his sanity. He's ok when he's winning. But when the going gets tough he flakes out.

...“I guess NASCAR thinks, ‘Hey, wrestling worked, and it was for the most part staged, so I guess it’s going to work in racing, too,’ ” he said. “I can’t understand how long the fans are going to let NASCAR treat them like they’re stupid before the fans finally turn on NASCAR.

“I don’t know that they’ve run a fair race all year.”--Tony Stewart

why is there always that mysterious piece of (debree) that shows up in the final ten laps .. especially if someone is half a lap in front of the field.... why bother running the previous 190 laps .. the races would be much more exciting if all were simply ten lap dashes.. and it seems that chevy runs a ton of comercials on the days that junior wins ... Hmmmmmm...

serously...at races where there are traditioanlly very few wrecks...there will be 3 or 4 debree cautions...and never one accident, blown motor, tire, or anything. How long has it been since nascar ran a caution free race?

I used to be a huge Nascar fan but in the last few years (since Dale Sr died) it pretty much sucks and I hardly ever watch.

I haven't watched much this year either. I was a big Dale Jarrett fan, but his switch to toyota kinda killed it for me. Plus I'm not running the TMS NASCAR leagues this year, so my need/desire to watch has dropped.

nascar only needs two rules ..
# 1 ,, the car must weight 3500 lbs with driver
# 2 ,, all teams must use 89 octane fuel
build anything you want that fits those two rules..

scripted racing ??? nah .. but here`s my take on the world 600 ( or whatever is racing this weekend ) no surprise a dodge is on the pole .. it mite lead 3 laps then a chevy will go to the front for the next 150 laps .. then perhaps kennseth for 100 or so to satisfy the ford folks .. toyota mite get a lap or two during a caution break .. then after several hours of tedious boredom there will be the SURPRISE piece of debree with 5 laps or less to go and gordon or another hendrick car will pull away for the win ... YAWN !!!! wait a minute ... that`s about what happens every week

I'm confused by your post. Are you complaining about the debri caution that makes the "tedious boredom" become a closer race? Or did you want it to continue without a caution?

What I don't like are the parts that really are scripted, like the silly driver and team introductions, and pre race shows and concerts. I wish all races started promptly at 1pm and without the silly prerace show.
