Oh, and by the way, I'm sick and tired of this "coming together" that America seems to do when there is a tragedy somewhere that the media promotes. " We are Boston!" "We are Sandy Hook!" Its all bull****. This country is as divided as I've ever seen it in my lifetime (so much for us all coming together under Obama the great uniter, breaking down racial and socioeconomic boundaries).
People have been at each other's throats for years, mostly over political lines, calling each other racist's, socialists, etc. but as soon as a couple of people are killed, we are "all one". **** that, its fake and sickening. I'm tired of the hypocrisy, the same people that are on the news (especially politicians and celebrities) are no different than they were last week. Ohhh, lets all donate money to a fund to help the victims! Better yet, lets have a celebrity concert to raise money for the victims!! Never mind the fact that most of that money goes to administrators, politicians, etc. and isn't really for the victims. Probably more waste and fraud in that **** than a Bernie Madoff ponzi scheme.
Sorry, I guess I come across as a cold hearted bastard, and I probably am. But I call it like I see it. All these people that are suddenly coming together to chant "USA! USA! USA!' should be doing that every single day. Loving one another and supporting this nation that we live in, not just doing it when a tragedy happens. America would be a much better place if people acted on a daily basis the same way as they do when some lunatic ****stick kills a couple of people. If we did, the lunatic ****sticks probably wouldn't get as far along as they do.

I think it can undermine the terrorist act. After all the events this week the people involved did not accomplish anything. People are not living in fear in the Boston area, Fenway and the TD Garden are still going to draw in huge crowds.
Perhaps my view is a little different because it is all local for me. Its kind of hard to wrap my head around because I have local ties to so many things going on. I work in the city where they found three other suspects, my wife works with the father in law of the terrorist that was killed. My sister knew one of the victims killed on Monday. The guy that was just arrested was a student at the local college. I think tragedy makes people see beyond political BS.

What u can't get over us that they didn't rob that convenience store and were conveniently right around the corner at that time.
I think had that not happened, these events would be very different. Extremely ironic situation.

Whelp he could have had a helluva lotta 'xplody material and just waited for the cops to close in and right as they were about to grab him he could've gone boom killing a few more to a bunch of extra people.
At least he thinks he has something to live for or still has some preservation instinct intact.

In a state of emergency it's perfectly fine for them to do, but I agree why give them any ounce of leverage some officer should have done it on the way to the ambulance at least.
The Patriot Act can suspend a lot of your rights if you're that guy or like him.

He's a foreign national. It won't be hard to validate the description of him as an enemy combatant. Were he a native US citizen, his Miranda rights would have been a stickier issue.

The worst part about it was that the FBI has been warned in 2010 that he was a radical muslim, and a potential nutbag and had been allowed to travel back to Russia for six months in 2012, then come back into the US. Was even watched and interrogated by them at one point, but was let go. Of course that was in 2010-2012 when we decided to not label radical muslims as a threat because it would be racially and socially insensitive, but put people in Tea Party groups and other conservatives and libertarians on a watch list as dangerous to the country.
