Selling a vehicle Internationally

I listed and sold my Dad's old '42 Jeep on ebay. The winner took the Buy it Now option, but he lives in the UK. What is the safest way to get the money from the buyer who lives in another country before releasing the Jeep to the shipping company?

a couple ideas:

one thing that i learned that paypal will send a confirmation and the funds may not be in the persons account. I know because i purchased something one time and i forgot to put the money in the "ebay buying paypal acct) and they sent the seller a confirmation when i knew the money wasnt there.

wire transfer with a confirmation. not sure how to be really secure. i might open a checking account in the morning for this transation so you dont give your real account information.

i have also wondered this myself...good luck with the sale.

I have heard that I should open a new account, have the funds transferred there, then, either withdraw the funds (cash in hand is always a good sign) or transfer them over to my regular account, and then release the vehicle.
