In Dishes defense I guess-
I moved out to the woods of bama(I heard banjos).
They didn't offer locals and Directv did.
Direc Tv also had Tivo at the time.
Plus Directv was cheaper by a couple bucks.
Xm was just an added bonus, I have a top tracks addiction.

And every time I have moved Directv comes out and installs my new dish for free. If your marriage can survive pointing a dish by yourself, you have a good one.

Thanks Chuck.. good read!

Btw, anyone know if I get HD receivers if they have to have a special cable ran from the dish straight to the receiver, or can they hook the dish into the cable junction box under my house that runs to all teh outlets i already have in place. Im pretty sure they are RG6 going to the outlets.

MMMM Hdtv. One toy I don't have.
I thought HDTVS just automatically broadcasted it.....Our friends have one, and the cable box broadcasts Hdtv through the receiver. So I think you only need a HDTV receiver, but I could be wrong.

Well I know I have to have a HD receiver, but im curious if that receiver can get the proper signal through the cable already ran throughout the house, or is some installer going to have to drill a hole in my floor

Use the RG6 to get from the dish to the reciever, but step up to HDMI for the reciever to TV ( may require bigger better TV )

With the new receivers you have to have at least rg6 cable between the dish, the switch and the receivers.
