Great, now my wife wants one! (she has an hour+ commute)

I went to cc and bb and with XM you anFM mod, and a car kit! Now it went from $89 to $210!!! Also, the commercials on TV and the sales nitwits claim that its 100% commercial free, but from what you're saying, its loaded with commercials. I guess we'll look at Sirius.

I have XM service, and it's not LOADED with commercials. In fact most every (if not all) music channel is commercial free. You will hear commercials on channels such as news, talk, etc. Do your own research on each company's website and support sites (such as xmfan.com) before making a decision on what is said here.

After putting up a topic about what CD's to take on my road trip I got people telling me to get XM or Sirius. I'm leaning toward Sirius but still need to look at all the channels they provide. I'm interested in who carries what sports (NFL, NASCAR, NBA, ESPN, FOX) and what Radio Talk Show personalities. On Music they both have me covered.

What about the antennas????? Do they stick out? Where do they usually install them? Thanks.

I just got XM a month ago. I like Nascar the most (as far as sports go), so XM was my only choice. XM has one channel that is dedicated to Nascar. I don't think Sirrus has a Nascar station.

On the music stations, I don't hear many commercials . . . maybe one here or there advertising what is going to be on another XM channel. These are very few and far between.

My 2004 Mustang GT's radio is set up for Satallite radio. The manual states that I have to get a kit from the dealer, and then hook up with Sirrus. I have not checked to see if I can change it to XM or not. You might want to keep this in mind if you are going to get a 2005.

The "Antenna" for the XM Roady is magnetic based. So, no installation for it. You do have to run the wire for it to the inside of the vehicle, but that is not too hard.

XM = NASCAR
SIRIUS = NFL FOOTBALL

Other than that they have mostly the same exact things. More than enough Sports Talk, Talk, Music, and Comedy.

Someone said they had TV shows on the radio? Which brand radio was that?

If you have any favorite channel (station) on your satellite radio system that just stands out please let me know. Thanks.

I'm leaning toward the Sirius. No commercials, same price a month, NFL, and more comedy stuff. The only negative is the NASCAR channel is on XM but I intend on having my butt parked in front of my TV during races anyway. Thanks for all the input.
