maybe you didnt understand the capabilities the Centerpoint Station and others like it have. destruction of an antire fleet of your Borgs while too far away for them to be able to be "probed" or "beamed up upon"

and there is simply no way to beam one's self aboard a Yuzhan Vong ship. it would be the equivolent of entering the bloodstream of a being. kinda hard to do. plus it would simply consume the borg anyway. the work similiarly, except the Yuuzhan Vong dont take the technology, they use it as fuel and ammunition.. and there is not one single mechanicla or even metal object in the fleet of Yuuzhan Vong. hard enough to detect, and their "technology" (they refer to non living, as in non bio, stuff as abominations) isnt even technology at all. sorry.

so what if you can beat a Death Star. a framboy with no training in his life can do the same. get over it. you ran the first lap, but theres 380 billion miles left. bye bye

The fact that these other beings you speak of use only organic matter would make them even more of a target for the Borg. They would have a field day with these Biological ships and weapons. Seeing them as imperfect beings they would assimilate the actual ships themselves. As far as attacking the cubes before they are close enough to attack, how will they know to attack the Borg if they are traveling through a transwarp conduit. This station will be sitting there in space, unaware of the sheer horror that will soon befall them, and all of a sudden a transwarp conduit opens up directly in front of the station. They would have no time to react because by the time they fire back there are already hundreds of Borg drones taking sections of the station for themselves. Sure, they would probably kill quite a few drones, but eventually the Borg adapt and nothing you shoot at them works anymore. Like a plague they spread throughout the station. Assimilating crewmen and decks as they go, increasing their numbers and their power. Assimilate one person who can use the force and they will disect his mind to understand how it works. THEN you will see all the Borg using it as they see fit. There is no stopping them without preparation. A luxury they will not have. It took years of research for the Federation to design ships to withstand the Borg attack, one of which was the Defiant I mentioned earlier, and yet they still don't work. The battle in First Contact destroyed many ships before the Enterprise eventually showed up. The only reason they were beaten was because Picard had once been partially assimilated and could still hear their thoughts, thus being able to determine a temporary weakness in the cube. And even then, they weren't stopped.

Precisely. The "Yucky Dong," or whatever future9er24 likes to call them, don't have a prayer against the juggernaut that is the Borg.

"Centerpoint Station is irrelevant. We will add its biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Its technology will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."

According to the Daystrom Institute website, assimilation is a Borg term describing the incorporation of other life forms into their collective. This is achieved by a combination of injecting the subject with nanoprobes and the surgical implantation of machine elements. A basic assimilation is effective within seconds.
Basically all they have to do is touch you. Assimilation tubules come out of their hands, instantly injecting nanoprobes that quickly take over any organic matter.
Like so:

The result is instant preliminary assimilation.
Here's an informative article on the process
Borg Assimilation

so they have to touch you....hmmm... that poses a problem.... FOR THEM!!! Force sheilds, my friend

no nanoprobes, no implants no nuthin. and you cant possible hope to stop the Gungans and their Boomers!

any mechanical being/implants are quickly scrambled. like eggs, except you cant eat them :P

im soory but theres no way around it, the Borg cant stop the Star Wars Galaxy. too many things to deal with. even with your weighted dice, you stand no chance.

resistance doesnt look so futile now does it?

Looks kind of difficult for him to defend if they come up behind him. You know, seeing as he has no knee or ankle joints to help him turn quickly.

The Borg also have personal forcefields surrounding their bodies. And with their use of transwarp conduits, they are undetectable and upon you before you know what's happened. Face it, the Star Wars galaxy is fracked. The Borg's assimilation process advances exponentially. My guess is they'd have the entire Empire Borgified within a few short weeks. And if the Borg were to assimilate the Death Star, they would render it a thousand-fold more powerful than it already is. LOOK OUT!

The Borg are unstoppable. No force in the known universe can resist them. Except of course for 'Q'. But then the 'Q' are omnipotent.

It seems a certain Soveriegn class starship with a particularly inventive captain and crew fair remarkably well against the Borg, as history (future history?) have shown.

Alright, I'm going to pull an unfair advantage here. Star Wars galaxy, meet Q.

He may look harmless but in reality he could snap his fingers and turn your entire galaxy into a litterbox for Data's cat Spot.

that better become a smiley soon...

this woulda made a pretty good epsiode... wait! its no over.

there is yet another flaw in the Borg plan. the Borg see gungans and they think what we all think about gungans. no use "assimilating" them. just let em all die out right? HA! this is where Jar-Jar's clumsiness plays in. after he is captured by the borg (but not assimilated cuz he is viewed as sub-par assimilation material) he trips on the way in, he gets his head-tails in a know and accidentally knowcks over a Borg guard or the equivilent. the guard hits his head and loses his memory and becomes an allie of Jar Jar. Double J uses this to his advantage and says "take-a meesa home!" when they arrive "home" the smart gungans (gasp) utuilized the Borgs powers against the other Borgs. they also aid the rest of the galaxy and annihilate the original borg. when done, this borg gets a medal handed to him by Leia Organa Solo (who is now the head honcho of the Galaxy, kind of like how Oprah controlls everything in her own way except Leia is more of a legal entity than a TV star). then he lives out the rest of his days on a Farm on Tatooine. the galaxy is safe, the Evil Borg are gone, and noe will ever be created again.

resistance is sooo not futile

That's funny. Completely implausible for more reasons than I care to count. But funny nonetheless.

Now, Arin, you're just bein' silly, and too complicated by far. Lemme help you out:

A good towel wrapped around one's head can defeat the mighty Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal, who is mighy ravenous, to be sure, but is so blindingly stupid that it thinks if you can't see it, it can't see you.

After escaping that, anyone can defeat the Borg with a well placed rat-tailed towel set up...

:P

/can't believe this thread is going this way.
//Those Volulon Vous or whatevers aren't canon, as they haven't shown up ON SCREEN, the definition of canon when talkin' about SW and Trek.
//Yeah, I know about the HHGTTG reference bein' bogus according to that, but only until April 29th, baby. I hope...
