LOL! Somehow I picture you tooling down the road in a Model T blowing the horn as you drive by and music from 'Deliverence' playing in the background!

My Nephew had a set. It was called TCR - Total control Racing and it was fun back in the day.

Now there are Digital slotcars in 1/32 and 1/24 scale, the little kid in my has a 1/32 scale Carrera set . Other brands are SCX and Scalextric. You can race up to 6 cars on a 2 lane set. You can have a pitlane, set your cars speed, braking, and fuel, set up ghost cars, safety cars etc. It is a blast.

I remember...

S&H Green Stamps.

When a gallon of milk came in a glass jug and had a metal loop around the neck with a metal handle attached so you could carry it.

When I ordered my Mr. Peanut mechanical pencil. Took eight weeks to get to my house.

When you only had ONE phone or TV in the house.

When you picked up the phone to make a call and instead of dialing you told the operator what number you wanted to call.

Two and three party phone lines. You shared the same line with people you didn't know in another household. If they didn't hang the phone up properly you couldn't make a phone call until they corrected it.

When color TV first came out.

The Schwinn "Crate" series stingray bicycles. I had an Apple Crate.

My mom said her mom would send her to the butcher to get 25 cents worth of lunch meat which would be like a quarter pound!!!

I remember a loaf of bread only costing 25 cents. You could buy a 32 oz glass bottle of soda pop for 39 cents and you got a nickle back for returning the bottle for deposit!

Bloomberg can kiss my hiney. He isn't even big enough to hoist a 32 oz. bottle. He's just big enough to think he knows what's best for everybody. Big ego, that is.
