Remember When......
Remember Pong! Space Invaders, Asteroids, when Atari was cool. I remember owning lots of 45's and LP's, my parents had some 78's. We had a car with an 8-Track player, thinking that was the ultimate in cool.
Going to Service Merchandise, or Sears or JcPenny to order out of their catalog and not from the internet.
HeathKit, Radio Shack TRS-80 computers with a whopping 4k of RAM, and an external cassette recorder for storage.
A big screen was 25 inches, and if it was color you were the rich kid on the block. lol. A console TV had a wooden cabinet, and what is a remote? You walked to the TV and changed the channel. Or if you were my dad, you'd ask me to change it! Ha. We didnt have a remote control until 1980 or so on our new Zenith TV. Needing an external antenna to get reception, and rabbit ears on top of the tv.
Only having 4 or 5 vhf channels to watch and a couple uhf or do I have that backward? Snow in the picture

^^ I forgot all about Service Merchandise. I remember always having their catalog around the house (and Sears and Penneys) and going through them and dreaming about all the stuff I wanted for Christmas, lol. I haven't seen a catalog like those at anyone's house in a long freakin' time, back then everybody had one in a drawer somewhere.

If you want to go down memory lane - check out wishbookweb.com they have some of the Sears, and Pennys catalogs from years ago online. Even noticed they have a couple from Wards and Spiegals.
Remember when the Dept stores had an actual Candy counter.

I remember all of that. I rode the bus home to an empty house at 8 years old and stayed by myself until my parents came home from work.
Remember pay phones everywhere.
Remember gas well under a dollar a gallon.
Hell, I remember minimum wage being $3.35 an hour when I started working, and thought I was living high on the hog at the time.
I remember when Wendy's first opened around here and it was the talk of the town. A square hamburger patty? Remember the salad bar as well.
Speaking of Wendy's, does anyone remember the big rumor about Wendy's having worms in their hamburger patties?
Having to wait in line at the bank to get money and do transactions.
I remember as well when the ice cream truck would drive by my house and that i would get a 2 scoop cone for only 0,25 $
And i still today look at this picture with me sitting on the hood of my dad's '69 Hemi Coronet not knowing the value these Mopar's would sell for today.

I remember the day that having a bowl of hash was something your mom gave you to eat!
