for kicks and giggles
I also have to say this is the best thread I have ever witnessed on religion. theres no flames, nothings burning, and everything is as it should be. More proof that TMS is the best forum around

I've never been religious but I'm not an atheist. I agree w/ SVO pauls 1'st post.My wife is very religious but leaves me alone.and doesn't try to force anything on me. I occasionally attend church with my wife and kids on xmas,Easter, etc. but when I do,I'm bored out of my mind. Trying to control a 5 year old there is no fun

I was forced to go to church the first 16 years of my life for 3 to 4 times a week. I am not very religious, however I do beleive very much. I come from Church of Christ very conserative/strict background and my wife is Catholic. While I don't attend, I make sure my oldest children 12, 8, and 7 attend with my parents, because I do not want them to grow up atheist. My poor father was forced to go to church every day for a year when he was little. The preacher challenged the congregation to show up every day for a year for God, and my grandfather and grandmother dragged him down there every evening for a year. Thats devotion. I've always been to lazy for the CofC way, though it is what I believe and will not go elsewhere.
My wife no longer practices Catholicism, and wants to go anywhere, but I just don't think it works that way. So in many ways I'm the worst kind of Christian, I believe a specific way, but am too lazy and sin far too much to ever practice it. Maybe someday.

You mean there was a big bang !
I grew up as a catholic , even went before I was supposed to and sat beside a nun then hey everyone is standing in line getting something haey David let check this part out to "The Body Of Christ" huh ah you two boys wanna stand overthere until service is over so I can talk to you I think we bolted. then after about grade 8 it just kinda faded away wasn't enough to keep me going, I do more for others my way and seems to work out just fine.
