the pedals are finished .. i had already typed out a big post but the picture would not upload .. i think i was in the wrong mode on my system .. a few things are different since i had it fixed .. i very much like that i dont have to watch commercials on every youtibe video i watch but i`m sure that wont last long ,, they will find me .. i made the top of the clutch pedal a bit long as i dont yet know what kind of throw it will need .. i have to find some kind of cable to hook up .. on the stang i used a emergency brake cable from a late model mustang .. i hope to do the same again ..now i just have to take everything apart and do the 5 speed swap .. warm weather helps a lot ..post 1353 is what i started with .

call me farmer HOSS .. for a few years i have tried to grow some cotton on my property with no success .. last year i planted from seeds i picked up on the side of the road .. only a couple sprang up from a dozen or so i started in my house and only a few sprang up and they died soon after putting the in the ground .. then i transplanted some plants from a cotton field near me and they did not die but never grew past the size i planted them at .. this year i have bought some on ebay and again have started them in my hose but i think i may have let them sit in the dark too long .. it id still too cold to let them sit outside in the sun .. i have 150 seeds so i will try various ways to get them up .. there is a house in southern TENN that i cruise by from time to time and every year they have cotton plants growing along their driveway .. looks neat .. cotton is a pretty plant when in full bloom and when filled out in full cotton bows //.. i`m still getting blurry pictures from my new camera ,

I've been thinking about planting some too Willie, actually have for a long time just never did. Got a neighbor with a decent size little garden and every year they plant a row of cotton down each side of the garden. Looks neat bloomed out.

back to story time .. in 78 /79/and 80 i was dating my future wife and working at the junkyard for the first time .. she was a bit young so every day i took her to school in the Xl i still had from post 1342 .. sometime in 1980 i saw and bought my first pinto .. a light blue 72 4 speed that was lightly wrecked in the front .. as usual the junkyard had parts needed to fix it .. sometime in that year i gave the xl to my dad as i remember the pinto being the car i drove on my honeymoon .. i later put a 302 in it and drove it a few years and then for some reason i sold it , i dont remember why ..maybe having a child had something to do with it .. but it was`nt long before i bought another stock brown 72 pinto from a friend and my wife was very angry about that ..i just got tired of sharing one car between us ..i drove the stock brown 72 for 6 or so years then sold it to a friend as i had bought back my blue 72 with the V8 .. my wife just could not understand that cars were first .. she was second ..

When I was a kid my mom drove a brown 72 just like that one, except it was a trunk car. What a flashback, haven't thought about that in years.

my 50 year high school reunion is this Saturday .. i debated whether to go or not .. i only spent 3 years with these people and have only seen one in the 50 years hence .. i live in north bama and the other fellow i have seen also lives here .. we`ve known each other since our early teens .. we both decided that we did not want to go to the predominantly black school we were zoned in .. bussing worked both ways back then . so we both drove every day to a school in Tennessee . silly now but that was the way it was in the early 70`s .. anywho i needed to take a test drive up to where the event was being held as i dont like going somewhere i`ve never been .. just took that drive .. the event is just outside of Fayetteville Tenn on 64 highway .. i know 64 highway a little .. i drove almost into town and did not see the spot i was looking for ,, being 75 % blind does help .. i stopped at a convivence store to ask for help and walked in and saw the usual Indan owner and thought he wont know where i need to go .. he probably does`nt know even where he is .. he said "" come come i show you " he walked out the front door and pointed across the street .. HA .. i stopped right where i needed to go

sometime in the mid 80`s i was working at a machine shop .. i was the maintenance man / do everything else man .. a friend got me the job as i needed something with insurance having a family now .. the same friend who took my wife from me later .. i still thank him every time i see him HA ! .. anyway i had built a bogus BOSS 302 engine from many different parts and makes and needed something to put it in .. i got a 73 mercury comet from the junkyard and put a straight axle under the front so the BOSS would fit and i made headers and everything .. i was test driving it at the machine shop one day and as i stomped the gas pedal i had forgotten that i did not put the nut on the steering wheel .. i was sitting on a 5 gallon bucket as i did not have seats yet and when it came alive it threw me into the back seat area and the car ran off into a big ditch and damaged the body a bit so i junked that car and started building a pro street pinto from scratch .. i had already back halfed my blue V8 pinto into a pro street car and wanted a pro stock mate .. they looked similar to these ..

The Story Reminds Me Of my Early Days as a Parts Counter Person When We Had a Particularly Difficult Customer at The Ford Service Desk Who Made a Scene and Later When We Asked The Service Person What The Problem was and The Answer Would Be a A LOOSE NUT BEHIND THE WHEEL!
